Chasing a target of 444 runs in the final innings, India finished the day at 164/3 needing 280 runs to win the summit clash vs Australia at The Oval. India were better placed after a brilliant 71-run partnership from Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli who rescued India from serious trouble when they lost back to back wickets early in the final session of the day. The Oval pitch looked like a flat batting track on Day 4 with minimum degradation in the wicket.
