UIDAI had recently warned citizens to not share their Aadhaar numbers with any outside organisations for risk of misuse. If a private organisation without a UIDAI user licence wants a copy of your Aadhaar, you can provide him your masked Aadhaar, which only exposes the last four digits of your Aadhaar number. However, the governement later withdrew the notification. As a result, obtaining or downloading a disguised Aadhaar is a simple procedure that involves an Aadhaar cardholder to complete a few simple steps on the UIDAI website. How to download masked Aadhaar? 1. Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and select the 'Login' option. 4. Select 'Download Aadhaar' from the 'Services' section. 5. Select the option 'Do you want a masked Aadhaar?' under the 'Review your Demographics Data' section. 6. After picking the option, click on "Download." 7. You will now be able to download your masked Aadhaar in PDF format. 8. The password-protected masked Aadhaar file can be opened by inputting the first four letters of your name (as in Aadhaar) in CAPITAL characters and your year of birth in YYYY format.
