Agamemnon Counterpart is a video in which a strange cartoon plays while screaming plays in the background. After being uploaded online, it became the subject of a creepypasta and various lore, and grew into a popular subject for reaction videos and remixes. The short video was created by artists Michael Ronson and Jason Kovac for Destination Imagination 2001, an art showcase competition. While it is unknown how the video did at the competition, the video would gain more recognition when it was uploaded to YouTube by user fividtelefuzzerator on June 13th, 2006 (shown below). The video starts off with a low quality VHS warning screen. After that, text appears saying: "In the year 2571, a videocassette was found in a pile of rubble on the ruins of a certain blue planet. In the background, screaming can be heard. The audio and visuals literally do not match up or make sense at all. Per ScareTheater, there was previously a fake story going around that the video was discovered in a Japanese forest and the screaming heard was linked to a rape case. This theory claimed that a young woman was raped and her abusers recorded her screams and then created this tape. And for some reason, they overwrote the visuals with a cartoon, but not the audio.
