Bhopal: Bhopal-based neurologist Dr Sunil Malik took over the charge as president of AIIMS Bhopal on Saturday. He took over from Dr Y K Gupta whose term ended on June 9. Dr Malik is a super specialist in neurology and an MBBS from GMC, MD in Medicine from GR Medical College (Gwalior) and DM in neurology from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. Dr Malik has been working as a senior consultant in neurology at Bhopal for two decades. He brings with him a wealth of experience concerning healthcare issues of the entire region and a deep understanding of the aspirations and expectations of patients of the state and of adjoining states. AIIMS Bhopal director, Dr Ajai Singh and others welcomed the newly appointed institute president.

On the occasion of 9th International Day of Yoga, Children's Yoga Camp & Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) for faculty members and AIIMS staff was organized in Department of AYUSH on June 11, 2023 at AIIMS Bhopal from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. About 23 children have participated in the Children's Camp and about 20 participants in CYP. The children were made to exercise by Sakshi Parsai. Yogoda member Nidhi Thakkar made the children meditate for half an hour. The yoga camp was organized with the objective of inculcating self-awareness, discipline, listening skills, increasing self confidence among the children. Various yoga activities are being organized in Institute till June 21. On June 5, the esteemed Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Prof. Dr. Ajai Singh inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Recognizing the immense potential of yoga, he expressed his vision of popularizing yoga by organizing similar sessions for different groups across the hospital. Yoga session for faculty & staff of AIIMS was conducted under the guidance of Medical Officer Yoga Dr. Mudda Sofia and Yoga Instructor Dr Shweta Mishra. Dr. Varun Malhotra, Dr. Barkati Tarique, Dr. Ranjana Pandey were also present on behalf of AIIMS Institute and Dr. Monica Malhotra, Kailash Raghuvanshi on behalf of Yogoda Sanstha as volunteers.
