The meaning of the letters “Alif Lam Meem”

Another “miracle” of Ahmed al-Hassan which most of the Ansars take as a proof for his “knowledge” is the belief that he would be the first one ever who explained the meaning of these blessed letters “Alif Lam Meem” which are mentioned in the beginning of some Surahs of the Holy Qur’an. But was he really the FIRST one? Let’s check first what he said in his book “The Allegories Vol.1, Question No.11) when he was asked about the meaning of these letters: What we “learn” from his answer is that he basically says that “Meem” stands for Muhammad (sawas), “Lam” for Ali (as) and “Alif” for Fatima (sa). Then he uses numerology arguments in order to prove his claim. To clear out this misconception once and for all that he would be the “FIRST” one doing this: He was definitely NOT the first one. There was already someone who did explain these letters centuries ago, and that was our master Imam Jaf’ar al Sadiq (as), and their meaning is totally different than what Ahmed claims: Hadith No.1: [Qur’an 3:1] Alif Lam Meem Ibn Babuwayh, from Abu Al Hassan Muhamman Bin H...

Meet the Muslim frat boys of Alif Laam Meem

The word 'fraternity' has been endlessly abused by Hollywood movies. It immediately summons up visions of drinking, partying 'bros' in American universities - playing football, ogling women and generally having a good time. But one group is making an effort to reclaim the word - as well as what Islam means in America. Alif Laam Meem at the University of Texas is the first of its kind - a Muslim fraternity. The group shot into internet and media fame when they took to the streets to protest domestic violence against women earlier this year. A photo of fraternity members protesting domestic violence against women. Image courtesy Facebook. "Members of Alif Laam Meem, the founding chapter of the new Alpha Lambda Mu Fraternity, held signs that said 'Muslims Say No to Domestic Violence' and 'Muslims Say Yes to Women's Rights' at the Men's Rally Against Domestic Violence in Dallas on March 24 to protest the abuse of women and to put a positive face on a religion they say is often misunderstood," reported Investigation into migrant girl's death in US Border Patrol's custody finds parents denied ambulance repeatedly T20 World Cup 2024 could be shifted from West Indies and USA to England: Report The group says that they have been living as Americans their entire life, and part of that experience has been constantly explaining what Islam is 'not' - and they're tired of it. "It’s difficult to have this conversation when we’re constantly telling people what Islam isn’t instead of what ...

Deeper Meaning of Alif, Lam, Meem – TheMostBeloved

Deeper Meaning of Alif, Lam, Meem So the Awliyaullah can see their followers by seeing their stars. Everyone has a star that is always in the presence of Prophet (s), because ilayhi yantahi l-amr, everything ends with Him. As we said yesterday about “Alif. Lam. Meem.” creation begins with the Alif but it is hidden in Muhammadun rasoolullah. The Secret of Allah’s Beautiful Names and Attributes are only appearances coming from the reality of the Yaa that is between the two Meems. Alif. Lam. Meem.: Alif is Allah (swt), it is pointing to Allah (swt), Lam is pointing to Jibreel (as) and Meem is pointing to the Prophet (s). So it is Meem, you cannot say ‘maa’, in the alphabet you have to say Meem. And Meem is spelled Meem, Yaa, Meem. So the first Meem takes from Jibreel, and the second takes from the first Meem. It will be reduced so that people can carry. So the first Meem is representing the Prophet (s), as he is in the Divine Presence receiving Revelation. The second Meem takes from the first one, but like a condenser, a transformer taking down from electricity which is coming as 360 volts, but which is reduced when coming to the houses so that the wires can carry it. Not everyone can carry 360 volts, go hold the wire and try! So between the two Meems is Yaa, which in Arabic grammar is equivalent to Alif. Did you study that? Yaa is Alif in Arabic grammar. So in the Yaa everything is hidden because from the first Meem whose face receives in the Divine Presence, always in `uboo...

Is it correct to read al

Praise be to Allah. Firstly: Before replying to this question, we must establish an important point about the virtues of certain soorahs. There are fabricated ahaadeeth about the virtues of various soorahs which have been falsely attributed to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Among the most famous of those who are known for that are the following: 1 – Nooh ibn Abi Maryam al-Jaami’, of whom it was said: He encompassed everything except the truth. He regarded it as permissible to tell lies in hadeeth in the interests of the religion, and he made up ahaadeeth by himself and attributed them to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) concerning the virtues of the soorahs of the Qur’aan, soorah by soorah. Abu ‘Ammaar al-Husayn ibn Hurayth al-Marwazi said: It was said to Abu ‘Ismah – i.e., Nooh ibn Abi Maryam - : “From where do you get (a hadeeth) from ‘Ikrimah from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) concerning the virtues of the Qur’aan soorah by soorah, when the companions of ‘Ikrimah have no such hadeeth?” He said: “I saw that the people had turned away from the Qur’aan and were distracted by the fiqh of Abu Haneefah and the Maghaazi of Muhammad ibn Ishaaq, so I made up this hadeeth, seeing reward.” Narrated by al-Haakim in al-Madkhal (p. 54); Ibn al-Jawzi in al-Mawdoo’aat (16). Its isnaad is saheeh. 2 – Maysarah ibn ‘Abd Rabbihi al-Faarisi, of whom Ibn Hibbaan said in al-Majrooheen (2/345, no. 1038): He is the au...
