Indications and Usage for Amoxicillin Capsules Adults and Pediatric Patients • Upper Respiratory Tract Infections of the Ear, Nose, and Throat: Amoxicillin Capsules are indicated in the treatment of infections due to susceptible (ONLY β-lactamase–negative) isolates of Streptococcus species. Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium is used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria, such as Warnings You should not use amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium if you have severe kidney disease, if you have had liver problems or jaundice while taking this medicine previously, or if you are allergic to any penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotic, such as Amoxil, Ceftin, Cefzil, Levaquin, Moxatag, Omnicef, and others.
