• • • • Ankita Bhandari, who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances on September 19, was murdered in the Rishikesh town of Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the concerned officials to investigate the case on a pronto basis and bring justice to the girl. Three people have been arrested in the case linked to Bhandari’s murder. Ankita Bhandari, who worked as a receptionist at a resort in Rishikesh was reportedly disturbed mentally because of a man trying to make sexual advances toward her. In a case that has completely stunned the popular Ganges region, the 19-year-old girl was murdered under mysterious circumstances, and the information is reportedly just the tip of the iceberg. Vinod Arya, the former BJP leader and Pulkit Arya’s father was expelled from the party effectively immediately. The Uttarakhand government also removed Arya’s brother Ankit from his post as the Vic-President of the OBC Commission in the state. The party further added that it was not associated with the culprits in any manner. Hours after the girl’s body was recovered from Cheela Canal, local residents set fire to the resort owned by Arya. The authorities had also bulldozed portions of the resort after the Chief Minister ordered action against all resorts in Uttarakhand with illegal constructions. By DEHRADUN: The Special Investigation Team of Uttarakhand Police has filed a 500-page chargesheet against three accused in the Vantara resort receptionist Ankita Bhandari murder case. One of the accused, Pulkit Arya, is the son of former BJP minister. On September 18, Pauri resident Ankita Bhandari suddenly disappeared from Vanantra Resort amid reports that she had been asked to offer some “specific services “to a VIP guest. ADG V Murugesan said that the SIT has listed 100 witnesses in the voluminous charge sheet. More than 30 pieces of documentary evidence have also been included. All eyes are on the narco test on the accused. “The chargesheet has been filed under IPC sections that include murder, tampering with evidence, criminal conspiracy, sexual harassment, and the Immoral Traffic (prevention) Act. The SIT had also sought permission from the court to conduct the narco test on the accused to find out the name of a VIP. Pulkit and Saurabh Bhaskar agreed. But Ankit asked for 10 days’ time. Ankita Bhandari Murder case: Polygraph, narco test of accused Pulkit Arya to be held from Feb 1

Synopsis "The polygraph test of the accused will be held from February 1 to 3 at Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi. The accused Pulkit Arya will be produced at CFSL at 10.30 am on February 1," Uttarakhand ADG told ANI.ADG Murugesan further said that the Special Task Force (STF) has prepared over 30 questions for the accused and the investigation officer will be present at the time of the test. "All the preparations have been done by the officials," he said. The First Class Judicial Magistrate Court Kotdwar, in Uttarakhand, approved the narco and polygraph tests of the accused on January 11. Consent was taken from Pulkit Arya on behalf of the Judicial Magistrate through video conferencing, after which the verdict was pronounced. The case pertains to 19-year-old Ankita, whose body was recovered from the Chilla canal in Rishikesh on September 24. On December 4, the Uttarakhand Police said that the investigation into the Ankita Bhandari murder case is almost complete. The only procedure that remains is the narco tests of the accused, for which they had sought permission from the Kotdwar court to conduct narco and polygraph tests of all three accused.
