Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Maan releases grants of Rs.83 lakh to the villages of Kharar Constituency for various development works

Chandigarh, June 6 Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Labour, Hospitality, and Investment Promotion Minister Anmol Gagan Maan on Tuesday distributed cheques amounting to Rs 83 lakhs to the villages panchayats of Kharar constituency for various development works of the villages. Providing further information in this regard, the Minister said that for the development works of various villages in Kharar constituency, cheques of Rs 2 lakh each have been given to Gram Panchayat of Fatwan, Mehrampur, Kadimajra, Samipur, Andaheri, Malakpur, Tajpura, Sialba, Mehroli, Baahalpur, Khera and Ratangarh villages' She also mentioned that cheques of Rs 2.50-2.50 lakh have been issued to village panchayats of Nangalgarhia and Jhandamajra for the development. In this way, a total amount of Rs.29 lakh has been distributed for the development works of these villages. She further informed that cheques worth Rs.28 lakh were distributed for various development works of villages at Youth Ekta Club Kubaheri, Senior Secondary Smart School Sialba, Gram Panchayat Majri, Jainti Majri, Takipur, Bhupnagar, Badarpur, Naglian and Taktana, etc. The Minister added that cheques amounting to 16.08 lakh were given for house repairs and various other development works as financial assistance to poor families in different villages of Kharar constituency. Ensure welfare schemes reach the worker: Anmol Gagan Maan

Punjab Labour Minister Anmol Gagan Maan on Saturday instructed the department officials to not leave any stone unturned to resolve the problems faced by the working class. Presiding over a meeting, the Cabinet Minister directed to ensure benefits of labour welfare schemes trickle-down to each & every worker. Asking to make a plan to expedite the registration of construction workers under the Punjab Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board, she said that awareness camps should be organized to register the construction workers and sensitise them about various schemes. She also asked to ensure that construction workers should not face any difficulty in forms filling process and also save them from exploitation at the hands of agents, besides disposing of all pending applications under various schemes of Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and Labour Welfare Board. The Welfare Board will launch a new mobile app "Punjab Usari Kirti Sewawan" or "PRUKS" under which construction workers would be able to register themselves with the Board and get information about the schemes run by the Board in a seamless manner, she added. She informed that the app will be launched in Punjabi, Hindi and English for the convenience of workers.

Tribune News Service Chandigarh, June 11 Punjab Tourism Minister Anmol Gagan Maan on Sunday announced the launch of a series of cultural festivals in the state through the year. The chain of festivals will be called “Rangla Punjab”, she said, adding that the idea behind the initiative is to revive rich cultural heritage of Punjab. It will begin with “Teeyan Festival” at Sangrur from August 18-20. A total of 19 festivals are to be organised across the state, including festivals to celebrate martial arts, culinary arts, military carnival, a river festival and a nature trails festival. Sufi tradition will also be celebrated in Malerkotla, says Minister Maan. An "Inquilab" festival will also be organised at Khatkar Kalan and a “Tibba festival” will be organised at Mansa in the series, she added.

Chandigarh, June 11 The government will organise heritage fairs and festivals throughout the year in different parts of the state so as to highlight its rich heritage and culture. The information was given by Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Anmol Gagan Mann, while addressing a press conference here today. Minister Anmol Gagan Maan Maan said this would help promote the tourism sector and attract more tourists. A series of fairs and festivals has been named as “Rangla Punjab”, she said. As many as 22 fairs will be held throughout the year, beginning with Dhiyan Festival at Sangrur from August 18-20. Maan said festivals such as the Maghi Festival at Muktsar, Basant Festival at Ferozepur, the Kapurthala Heritage Festival, the Kila Raipur Rural Olympics, the Baisakhi fair in Bathinda, the Patiala Heritage Festival and Hola Mohalla at Anandpur Sahib will be organised. Among other festivals will be Inqlab Festival at Khatkar Kalan in September, Doon Festival highlighting the culture and cuisine of Malwa at Mansa, Punjab Handicraft Festival at Fazilka, Equestrian Fair at Jalandhar in November, Military Literature in Chandigarh, Rivers Fair at Pathankot and Sufi Festival at Malerkotla. CHANDIGARH: Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Labour, Investment Promotion and Hospitality Minister Anmol Gagan Mann on Monday reviewed the development works of various wards of Kharar city. On this occasion, the residents of Kharar informed the minister about their various problems. Taking the problems of the people seriously, the minister solved most of the problems on the spot. Apart from this, the officials of various departments were asked to take quick action by issuing necessary guidelines to solve the remaining problems.
