Anmol Gagan Maan invites youngsters to come forward with innovative business ideas

CHANDIGARH: Asserting to establish industry is important for a country’s progress as it augments economic and employment growth, Punjab Investment Promotion Minister Anmol Gagan Maan on Tuesday invited young entrepreneurs from Punjab to come forward with their unique business ideas. During a function organised by Innovation Mission Punjab during its flagship Accelerator Program's Demo day, the Minister said the State has started Innovation Mission Punjab as a public-private partnership to boost the startup ecosystem in Punjab, leading to the state's overall economic growth and social development. It, in turn, will open avenues for employment, which has a direct impact on the levels of migration.” Speaking about the program, she informed that the IMPunjab works towards discovering, mentoring, and scaling startups by eventually making them investment ready. Commenting on the event, Mr. Pramod Bhasin, Chairman, IMPunjab said that the Mission envisions creating a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Punjab. Punjab has great entrepreneurial talent and has unique strengths in tourism, food, music, art, agriculture, healthcare etc. Through IMPunjab we’ve brought together the best global investors and business leaders to mentor the entrepreneurial talent in the State. By Kamaljit Kaur Sandhu: Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs minister Anmol Gagan Maan on Sunday announced the launch of a series of 19 festivals to showcase the state's traditions, art forms, and customs under an initiative called "Rangla Punjab". A budget of Rs 65 crore has been set aside for the 19 festivals which will be held over a period of one year. Maan said the festivals will help revive the state's cultural heritage. ALSO READ | FESTIVALS UNDER 'RANGLA PUNJAB' The inaugural festival of the "Rangla Punjab" series will be the "Teeyan" festival, scheduled to take place in Sangrur from August 18 to 20. The festival is dedicated to celebrating the monsoon season and is known for its lively music, dance performances, and traditional games. The festival series will also include the "Inquilab" festival in Khatkar Kalan, paying tribute to the history of Punjab's struggle for independence. A "Tibba Festival" will also be organised in Mansa to showcase the region's scenic beauty and promote eco-tourism. The series of festivals is expected to attract tourists from across the country and contribute to the overall economic growth of the state's tourism sector. The tourism minister also said an app will be released soon to help tourists find their way around the gurudwaras in the state.
