Bihar’s 2nd zoo to come up in Araria

PATNA: The government has decided to develop the state’s second The Monkey House will have fruit-bearing trees. The project has been conceived to reduce the menace caused by monkeys in parts of the state. Once fully developed, it will also become tourist attraction, he said. A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against sixty-two people and eight were arrested by the police. Araria Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Singh said that similar incidents have occurred in the past too and this is a repeated incident. He also added that efforts are underway to nab all the accused.

Protesting absenteeism of teachers, villagers in Bihar’s Araria district locked up a government primary school. The government primary school at Raniganj in Bihar’s Araria district is grappling with teacher absenteeism.(Hindustan Times photo) The primary school at Refugee Tola in Raniganj block, 322 kms (approx.) north east of Patna, has two teachers for 100 students of classes 1 to 5. However, villagers alleged that teachers Shagufta Riyaz and Amit Kumar Yadav would seldom go to school. This resulted in students staying away from it and the school not functioning for the larger part of the year. The villagers took the extreme step after their complaints to the Raniganj block education officer feel on deaf ears. Their action prompted the authorities to transfer Riyaz and Yadav and also issue them show-cause notices. With new set of teachers — Indu Bhushan Singh Chandan and Trilok Kumar — who joined last week, the school has re-opened after two months. Somaria Devi, 70, who donated her land for the school a decade back, is dejected. “I had donated my land so that children in the village could study and become literate. I was wrong. The school has become a haunted house, with no teachers and students,” Devi said. “There are 100 students enrolled at this school on paper. Bodies of 2 Araria natives killed in J&K reach home

PATNA: The villagers of Kariyat in Purnia district on Monday bid a tearful farewell to Md Muzahid Alam, who was stoned to death by terrorists near Kargil Army checkpoint in J&K last Wednesday, while the bodies of Yogendra Rishidev and Raja Rishidev of Araria arrived at Raja of Dahtola under Bounsi panchayat and Yogendra from Khairuganj were gunned down by militants in Kulgam district of Kashmir on October 17. A host of leaders, including deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad, labour resources department minister Jibesh Kumar and BJP Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi paid floral tributes to the departed souls at the airport. Later, the relatives of the deceased left with the bodies for Araria in an ambulance. A team of Araria district officials accompanied them. The body of Muzahid, a mason by profession, had reached his native village on Sunday night. His wife Dilkho Bano cursed her fate as her husband had gone to Kashmir about six months ago to earn livelihood. Dilkho is more worried about the survival of the family. “He was the only breadwinner in the family. I have to look after four minor children, including two daughters. Raid in illegally operated nursing home in Raniganj

एक तरफ स्वास्थ्य विभाग के द्वारा अमान्य रूप से संचालित अल्ट्रासाउंड, व नर्सिंग होम संचालकों पर छापेमारी की जा रही है दूसरी तरफ अमान्य नर्सिंग होम के संचालक अपना ठिकाना बदल रहे है। सोमवार को रानीगंज रेफ़रल अस्पताल के प्रभारी चिकित्सा पदाधिकारी रोहित कुमार के नेतृत्व में रानीगंज में चल रहे अल्ट्रासाउंड संचालकों के संस्थानों पर छापेमारी की गयी। इस दौरान चिकित्सा पदाधिकारी रोहित कुमार झा, चिकित्सक अरविंद कुमार, बीएचएम प्रेरणा रानी वर्मा, अस्पताल प्रबंधक रवि राज सहित अन्य अधिकारियों ने मिलकर रेफरल अस्पताल के आसपास संचालित अवैध नर्सिंग होम में छापेमारी की। कुछ संचालकों से वैध कागजात कार्यालय में प्रस्तुत करने का निर्देश दिया। रेफरल अस्पताल के प्रभारी चिकित्सा पदाधिकारी ने कहा कि वरीय अधिकारियों के निर्देश पर हमलोगों ने टीम बनाकर रानीगंज बाजार स्थित जिला परिषद मार्केट सहित अन्य स्थानों पर संचालित अवैध नर्सिंग होम में छापेमारी की। छापेमारी के दौरान की भी नर्सिंग होम में मरीज नहीं पाया गया। इसके बाद सभी संचालकों को सभी वैध कागजात कार्यालय में जमा करने का निर्देश दिया है। इस तरह की कार्रवाई लगातार चलती रहेगी।
