However, one of the robotics research facilities responsible for the USSR’s scientific advancements has suddenly gone dark and it falls to the player to investigate why. Little do they know that the robots at this facility have gone mad and gruesome, terrifying creatures now lurk within its halls. ‘Atomic Heart’ Reviews Are Here, And They Are Just Okay

Atomic Heart Mundfish Today marks the embargo date for Atomic Heart, the bizarre new sci-fi game from Mundfish, which has attracted some manner of controversy given its connections to Russia. But in terms of how the actual game performs and whether it’s worth playing, reviews are now in and the result is something perhaps…okay. A bit average, but certainly not bad. Gaming Trend (9.5/10): “2023 has already been strong with Game of the Year contenders, and Atomic Heart is another one of them. It lives up to all of the hype and all of its promises; an amazing debut game for Mundfish. Nailing down a few things Atomic Heart is phenomenal at is nearly impossible because it’s extraordinary in all of them. This isn’t just my favorite game of this year, it might be one of my favorites of the decade.” And there are lows: GamesRadar (5/10) : “Atomic Heart has a lot of big ideas, but it doesn't do a good enough job with the basics. With an incomprehensible storyline, weightless combat, and frustrating first-person platforming, Atomic Heart is left to stand in the shadow of the video games that so clearly inspired it.” Editor Twinfinite (4/10) : “Despite what is a promising combat formula as well as the supporting systems behind it when it comes to skills, crafting, and upgrades, there are also several equally frustrating aspects of it that hold the game back. The hope is that Mundfish is able to fix some of the more glaring issues post-launch, but right now, it feels less like a welco...

Atomic Heart: FSR 2.2 vs. DLSS 2 vs. DLSS 3 Comparison Review

IntroductionAtomic Heart was released on February 21st and on launch day the PC game had support for NVIDIA's DLSS Super Resolution (DLSS 3.1), NVIDIA's DLSS Frame Generation (also known as DLSS 3), and AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 (FSR 1.0). After more than three months, the game's developer Mundfish has now enabled official support for AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.2 (FSR 2.2) with the release of the 1.7.0.0 patch. It's important to note that unlike other titles, Atomic Heart has completely removed support for FSR 1.0 with the FSR 2.2 patch, similar to what was done in some titles during the transition from NVIDIA DLSS 1.0 to DLSS 2.0. In order to run this game at maximum graphics settings and reasonable framerates at native resolution, quite a powerful GPU is required, which is why upscaling solutions are so important. But depending on the game, there are subtle differences in the implementation of NVIDIA's DLSS Super Resolution (DLSS 3.1), NVIDIA's DLSS Frame Generation (also known as DLSS 3) and AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.2 (FSR 2.2), so we are keen to have a look at these temporal upscalers in this game. Below, you will find comparison screenshots at 4K, 1440p, 1080p, and in different DLSS and FSR 2.2 quality modes; the TAA and DLSS Frame Generation screenshots are also available in the dropdown menu. For those who want to see how DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Frame Generation and FSR 2.2 perform in motion, watch our side-by-side comparison vide...

MAIN: • Added Photo Mode • Added specific graphics and display settings for the Steam Deck platform. Read the full list of changes: The other major addition coming with the patch is that Mundfish has added "specific graphics and display settings for the Steam Deck platform." While that only affects players on that specific platform, it is great to see Mundfish giving anyone playing on the Steam Deck. That platform is only getting more popular, so targeting updates there makes quite a bit of sense. It's also worth noting that this update is likely looking ahead to Atomic Heart's upcoming DLC. Announced last month, the currently unnamed DLC is supposedly on target to release later this summer so we will likely be hearing more about it in the near future, potentially later this week at the Summer Game Fest or one of the many other events surrounding Geoff Keighley's summer showcase. • We cannot guarantee or support the game if the Atomic Heart game client has been modified by any third-party software. If this happens, you should uninstall this software and reinstall the game. • If you encounter issues on Steam, first check the integrity of the game files as described here. This may solve the issues: • Updating the driver to the latest version may improve performance (NVIDIA only). • The problem with unlocking achievements has already been solved, but in some very rare case...
