Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 28 (ANI): How would a son remember his father, who had an untimely death? The father was a star as well, who was revered by the whole world for his acting genius. How would a son come to terms with the reality when his ‘bestest friend’ is gone forever? Babil Khan, the elder son of late actor Irrfan Khan poured his heart out and shared a few anecdotes about his father on a public forum last year. Ahead of Irrfan Khan’s third death anniversary, let’s revisit the actor from Babil’s point of view. The young actor keeps on sharing about his father on social media. Irrfan passed away at the age of 53 years after suffering from neuroendocrine cancer on April 29, 2020. He is remembered for films like, ‘The Lunchbox’, ‘The Namesake’, ‘ Piku’, ‘Inferno’, ‘Maqbool’ and many more. Babil recollected in that event that ‘Baba’ was his best friend, his soulmate. But he was a busy man, shooting most of the time. So, the ten-year-old Babil one day decided that he would meet God and tell him how lonely he was. He told his father and Irrfan readily accepted his proposal. Both of them drove to Igatpuri, the farmhouse of Irrfan. The ‘Piku’ actor told Babil to wear his swim trunks. Then he laid with his back on the water. “I’ve splashed around, tried to regain control,” Babil said. Babil Khan, the son of late actor Irrfan Khan, made his acting debut in the movie Qala in 2022. Both the public and critics were captivated by his performance as a promising singer in the film. Babil recently opened up about how he was motivated to dive into acting after his late father Irrfan’s death in 2020. In an exclusive interview with Babil Khan mentioned how difficult it was to deal with his father’s death. He revealed how Irrfan khan would be gone for a long shooting schedule and after his death, for some time Babil was under the impression that his father was on yet another schedule like that and would eventually return home. Slowly the actor came to the realisation that this time it was an indefinite shooting schedule and his father is not coming back. He felt as if he lost his best friend. But what kept on going in his memories with his father. After losing his battle with cancer in 2020, the legendary actor Irrfan Khan passed away. For two years, Irrfan struggled with the fatal illness. On April 29, 2020, he passed away in Mumbai. Today, January 7 marks the late actor’s birth anniversary. In an emotional message in March 2018, the late actor shared about his cancer diagnosis. He then travelled to the UK for treatment. Babil Khan remembered his father Irrfan Khan as he attended the IIFA 2023 Awards and shared some of his sweet memories with him. The Qala actor recently made an appearance at the awards ceremony with his mother Sutapa Sikdar in Abu Dhabi. At the event, the actor talked about his baba and opened up about his feelings. In a conversation with ANI, Babil Khan recalled the time with his father and said, "I miss him every day of my life." He further disclosed that while growing up he did not have many friends and his father was the only friend he could look up to. He said that laughing with his baba was his fondest memory. Babil was further asked if he would like to recreate any Irrfan Khan performance on stage, to which he responded by saying no. While most of his posts are dedicated to his late father, actor Irrfan, Babil’s most recent photo features him and his younger brother, Ayaan Khan. The aspiring actor shared his and Ayaan’s childhood picture and talked about his bond with him. Babil Khan’s fans and followers loved the picture and called them cute. BABIL KHAN SHARES ADORABLE CHILDHOOD PIC WITH BROTHER AYAAN KHAN Post the demise of actor Irrfan, his elder son Babil Khan shared two pictures. In the first one, he can be seen holding his little brother’s hand. Whereas, in the second one, he is supporting Ayaan to stand on a scooter. Both of them can be seen dressed casually and looking absolutely adorable.
