Purva Tirupati Shri Balaji temple, Guwahati

We had visited this temple located in the outskirts of the city dedicated to Lord Venkateswara during our sightseeing in Guwahati. The temple complex has been created in South Indian style keeping in mind Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati. The temple complex is very well maintained with beautiful manicured gardens. We liked the beautiful Dravidian architecture of the temple created using white marble. Apart from the main Lord Venkateswara temple, we saw small temples dedicated to Goddess Durga and Padmavati. After darshan of the Lord, we enjoyed rice prasadam which is given to all devotees coming here. Situated between the Airport and Guwahati town, this is a pleasing, well maintained and Serene Temple of the Lord Venkateshwara and Padmavathi. Managed entirely by South Indians in true blue South Indian style , this temple was a real surprise in the North East. They even serve Rice Prasadam to the devotees and you can buy delicious Laddu Prasadam(2 Nos) for Rs.50. Well manicured lawns around the temple compliment the beautiful temple. Ample parking available As the name signifies, this temple is the Tirupati Balaji temple of the East. This is built in recent times and is an exact replica of the Balaji Temple in Tirupati.
