The banks are likely to remain shut for eight days next month, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday calendar. In September, festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi and Navratri will be celebrated. While there are some bank holidays that will be observed across the country, there are a few which are going to be state/region-specific. • Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act. • Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday. • Banks’ Closing of Accounts. In the first week of September 2022, people will be gearing up for the festive season and celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, Karma Puja and First Onam. The holidays come into effect under three categories - 'Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act', 'Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday', and 'Banks' Closing of Accounts'. New Delhi: We've already passed the halfway point of the current month, but there are still a few bank holidays left in September. As the holiday season began in September, there were as many as 13 bank holidays, eight of which had already been used. This month, five more bank holidays are left for the remaining 13 days, after which the holiday season will be in full swing. It should be noted that bank holidays differ from one state to the next and from one bank to the next.
