(Representational image via Canva) Bengaluru News Today Live Updates: Eight people were injured Monday during the annual Kakhandaki Kari bull festival in the Babaleshwar village of Vijaypura district in Karnataka, as per an ANI report. “Eight bulls were tied to a rope and made to run. Villagers usually provoke the bulls by tying them with a rope. The bulls however lost control and ran over those who came to see the festival. Many people were injured by the bulls,” officials told the agency. The wet weather condition is likely to bring down the temperature levels as well. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius in the coming week. The minimum temperature will be 22 degrees till Monday and will go down further after it, the weather officials stated. If Bengaluru receives heavy rains, it is feared that the showers will bring the city to its knees. Notably, an alarming report submitted to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) by Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), there are more than 225 flood-prone locations in the city. Even just one centimetre of rainfall can cause flooding in some of these areas, the report warns.

In its latest bulletin updated at 9:00 am (IST) on Wednesday, the IMD stated that the cyclone is likely to move nearly northwards in the next 24 hours, while retaining its intensity. It would then move north-northwestwards in the next 3 days. Severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy over eastcentral and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea lays about 890 km west-southwest of Goa.
