BHOPAL: Eletric inter-city coach servies began operations along the Bhopal-Indore route on Monday. While providing a safer & greener ride, the buses are expected to cover the distance in almost the same time as the fuel-run intercity coaches. The special inaugural offer for the Bhopal-Indore route is Rs 349 per seat. The buses are fitted with innovative technology and offer end-to-end convenience for inter-city travellers with coaches being run on an hourly basis between Bhopal-Indore, said the officials. NueGo, the inter-city pan Indian electric mobility coach brand of GreenCell Mobility, launched the e-bus service. In Bhopal, the route will be along ISBT, Bhopal Railway Station, Lal Ghati, Sehore, while in Indore it would be Star Square, Radisson Square, Vijay Nagar and Sarwate bus stand. Officials said that the coaches go through 25 stringent safety checks including mechanical and electrical inspections. The coaches are sanitized before every trip and coach pilots go through breath analyzer tests. The services feature live coach tracking, drop point geo-location, and monitored in-coach CCTV surveillance. These electric coaches can run 250 kilometers in a single charge, with the air conditioners on, in traffic conditions. These coaches have already completed 2 lakh kms of road trials through the months leading upto the launch of the services. By India Today Web Desk: Madhya Pradesh got its first inter-city The environmentally friendly e-buses, each costing Rs 2.5 crore, were flagged off from Indore at 7 am carrying 14 passengers to Bhopal and they brought 24 people back to the city. The newly-launched electric bus is expected to leave for Bhopal at 5 pm in the evening. Company's sales head Dhawal Solanki was quoted by Times Now as saying, "We have launched electric buses from Bhopal to Indore and we have been carrying out trials for the past one month. Once charged, these buses can run up to 280 kilometres. After the bus reaches Bhopal, it needs to be charged to come back to Indore." People have to shell out Rs 224 to travel from Indore to Bhopal, local media reports said. The company has named the bus Aloe Bus. MORE BUSES TO LAUNCH Solanki further added, "As of now, we have launched 4 electric buses on the inter-city route and within ten to fifteen days, the company will acquire ten more buses. Once we acquire more buses, the bus services will become operational from morning till night. We are planning to build two lounges for passengers to provide them with comfort while travelling.
