About Us

Bhutan Airlines- Tashi Air Pvt. Ltd, Bhutan’s first Private Airline came into existence after the Tashi Group of Companies, outbid other joint venture companies and won the License to operate Airline Service both Domestic and International Sectors. Tashi group of Companies was founded by Late Dasho Ugen Dorji in 1959 with the vision to bring out the best of Bhutan. The group believes in bringing in Changes without disturbing and in keeping with the His Majesty’s guidelines for development and growth in the kingdom. On 4 th December 2011, Tashi Group of companies welcomed the arrival of Bhutan Airline’s (Tashi Air Private Limited) first aircraft, A Pilatus PC12 with capacity of 8 Passengers for domestic operations. It started International fights on 10 th of October 2013 with an A320 aircraft with 150 passenger seating capacity from Paro to Bangkok and began operating to Kolkata sector on 7 th December 2013. Bhutan Airlines being the country’s first private airline. It has always strived to provide excellent services to the people with the lowest fares posssible. Bhutan Airlines

Bhutan Airlines allocate checked baggage depending on the route flying and the class of ticket purchased. For the majority of flights, Business Class are allowed 40kg of checked luggage, and Premium Economy and Economy class are allowed 30kg. One exception for this is for passengers who are flying from Gaya - Paro. For this route, checked bags must be less than 30kg for Business Class, and 20kg for Premium Economy and Economy Class. Facilities Bhutan Airlines crafts their own food from the finest ingredients made by executive chefs. Hot and cold beverages are served in-flight. Priority boarding is also given allowing passengers to pass through immigration. Seating Seats in Business Class are even more comfortable with extra legroom for passengers to stretch. Passengers flying with Bhutan Airlines will need to check-in at the Airport prior to departure. The airline recommends that passengers arrive at the airport 2 hours before flight departure. The check-in desks will open 3 hours prior to flight departure time. These desks will close 45 minutes prior to departure time.

Can I make a booking online with my credit card if I am not travelling myself? If the cardholder is not a part of the traveling party, then the passenger should possess: • A photocopy of both sides of the card, which will have to be self attested by the card holder authorizing the use of the card for the purchase of the ticket. For security reasons, please strike out the security CVV digits on the copy of the card. • This photocopy should also contain the name of the passenger, the date of journey and the sector on which the journey is made. The above document MUST be produced at the time of check-in. If the passenger fails to comply with these conditions, Bhutan Airlines reserves the right to deny the passenger(s) from boarding the flight.
