Jeremy Lalrinnunga won the first gold medal of the day with his 300kg lift in the men's 67kg category. Achinta Sheuli lifted 313kg in the men's 73kg category to make it three gold medals for India in weightlifting. A glorious day for India at the Commonwealth Games 2022 comes to an end. Saturday was a day full of medals, headlined by a historic feat in athletics and a windfall in wrestling. Avinash Sable’s historic silver medal broke the Kenyan podium monopoly in the men’s 3000m steeplechase at the CWG while Priyanka Goswami won silver and created history of her own by winning the first-ever medal by an Indian woman in the 10km race walk. India won six medals in wrestling on Friday and the success spilled over today. Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian female wrestler to win a hat-trick of golds at the Commonwealth Games. Ravi Dahiya and Naveen, meanwhile, won their first medal at the CWG, coloured gold. Pooja Sihag, Pooja Gehlot and Deepak Nehra - all won bronze. Lawn bowls continued to make history at Birmingham 2022, thanks to the men’s fours team who won the silver medal.
