BlackBerry Q5 says 10.3.1 is the latest OS

Hello, this is my first time using a BlackBerry phone. I bought a refurbished BlackBerry Q5 and have just set it up. It recognizes my SIM card, connects to my carrier' network and I can also receive SMS/MMS. The only thing that bothers me now is that BB Link says that its OS version is 10.3.1.2576. (This was the OS version of the phone when I received it, and it doesn't update to 10.3.2) More specifically: ' Software Release: 10.3.1.1779 OS Version: 10.3.1.2576 ' When I click 'Software Updates' -> 'Check for Updates' from within BB Link, it says 'Your BlackBerry has the latest available software'. Why is this? I don't understand. Isn't the latest OS for Q5 which can be updated to via BB Link is 10.3.2? For what it's worth, the information written on its box is as follows: 'BlackBerry Q5 SQR100-2 Pure White 10.3.2 Bundle 2639 Model: RFS121LW 301015 Made in Taiwan for BlackBerry Canada' Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Hello, I'm the OP of this thread. I was very tired before, so mistakenly posted some wrong information in my original post. The information I said was written on its box is incorrect; it's from another Q5 phone I bought from the same seller at the same time. The actual information for this problematic phone is: 'BlackBerry Q5 SQR100-2 Pure White 10.3.1 Bundle 2576 Model: RFS121LW 220915 Made in Taiwan for BlackBerry Canada' So the OS version printed on the back of the box is relevant with the one shown in BB Link, except it won't update to 10.3.2 ...

BlackBerry Q5 review

In terms of price the BlackBerry Q5 is going to cost around £330 (around US$500 / AU$550) SIM-free, which puts it up against the likes of the Look the BlackBerry Q5 up and down and it's immediately obvious that this isn't a premium device, with a sizeable bezel above and below the screen, and then a chunk of plastic below the keyboard too. The additional space below the display is actually not a bad thing though, as the upwards swipe required to close applications is made easier with this gap - something that was sorely missing from the Q10. Pick the Q5 up and its plastic body is very noticeable. It does feel solid, but at the same time the matt gloss plastic rear and chunky dimensions of 120 x 66 x 10.8mm (4.7 x 2.6 x 0.4 inches) do take you back a few years to BlackBerry phones of old. At 120g (4.2oz) the Q5 is suitably weighted, thankfully, because if it was nearer the 100g (3.5oz) mark you might mistake this for a toy - which isn't totally out of the question anyway. BlackBerry has said that the Q5 is targeted at the younger generation who generally share content, like to be connected with mates and want their own freedom - although it's not exactly the handset you can see kids showing off to their friends. The back looks like it should come off, but it doesn't - honest. We were fooled when we saw the Q5 at BlackBerry Live in May, but after a few minutes of trying to yank it apart we were politely told it wasn't possible, so don't bother. There's no access to that batt...

We spotted the Q5 a while back and have been calling it the BlackBerry R10, but now we know for sure that it is indeed the Q5. BlackBerry Q5 Review

What is the BlackBerry Q5? The BlackBerry Q5 is only the third BB10 handset to make it to market, and the first to target a more affordable price point. A replacement of sorts to the BlackBerry Curve range, the Q5 is the mid-market sibling to the touchscreen The Q5 has the same 3.1-inch HD display as the Q10, but runs a slower 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and has a 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera. It’s available for £320 on a PAYG basis, so it’s priced to go head-to-head with the Is the BlackBerry Q5 cheap enough to convert those upgrading from old BlackBerry OS 7 handsets and can BB10 bring the fight to Android? Let’s take a look. Watch our BlackBerry Q5 video review: BlackBerry Q5 Design It doesn’t get off to the most auspicious of starts. The BlackBerry Q5’s design is not the most ergonomic, solid or pleasing on the eye. At 10.8mm thick and 120g in weight the Q5 isn’t especially thick or heavy, but it feels heavier at its base than at the top (perhaps because of the QWERTY keyboard), which makes it feel unbalanced. The BlackBerry Q5’s plastic body doesn’t help, either. It makes the Q5 feel more like an entry-level phone than a £320 mid-range one. It creaks and groans when put under even moderate amounts of pressure, and our sample shows signs of wear after just a few days’ use. The Q5’s design is a long step away from the premium metal and carbon fibre effect Q10 and struggles to meet the build quality of many of its similarly priced rivals, including the aging but still stunni...

OS version is blocked from device.

My Blackberry Q5 Model type SQR-100-3 with preloaded software release of 10.2.1.2..and so on. I was very comfortable with UI until a new update was getting download in the background of 10.3.... This new update has very tiny fonts to read. So after some internet search I decided to downgrade my software version to my previous one of 10.2. I used a autoloader respective to the SQR 100-3 model type and executed it and the LED turned green for a few seconds and then the autoloader command prompt screen closed abruptly giving message in this manner " Error: This OS version is blocked from device". Ever since the BB Q5 phone is blinking red light twice but the phone is not booting. Later I tried a few more autoloaders including software version 10.3.1.997 but it gives same Error messages " Failed to load image"& " Error: This OS version is blocked from device". Can you please assist me with this issue since I bought it only 3 days ago and I was more comfortable with the Blackberry 10.2. versions which was easy to my eyes. I am not sure which software version on my BB Q5 was updated the latest but it was 10.3 or it's later version. Once again my model type is Blackberry Q5 SQR 100-3 type I will be thankful for your help in solving this issue. My Model Type is BB Q5, SQR-100-3You will eventually get used to the smaller icons (not really smaller...just the shading around them has been removed). This was a common complaint a few years ago here on CB and you can search for threads o...
