Persimmon Hill Farm (Lampe)

A farm in the SW Missouri Ozarks with you-pick blueberries and blackberries in season, plus a bakery featuring Blueberry Thunder Muffins, Blueberry Cinnamon Rolls and more. Berry season is June through mid-August. Farm-made small batch jams, syrups sauces & lemonades are available at the farm store or online year-round. The farm also grows elderberries and produces 100% pure premium Elderberry Juice, and grows shiitake mushrooms, available fresh, dried and in a premium culinary sauce. This place is really off the beaten track but worth the expedition. The owner was extremely friendly and accomodating as she had sold her last warm muffin just before our arrival. She graciously thawed and warmed a frozen muffin. We bought six and because they were "small" she only charged us for four. They were by far, the best blueberry muffins we have ever eaten. I can only imagine how delicious they are fresh out of the oven! They also have great gift baskets of syrups, jams, and preserves. The staff where we were staying at Branson Treehouse Adventures told us of this, when I said we were just going for a drive in the area. We love blueberries and were thrilled to find this place and pick our own ripe blueberries! They and visitors followed strict precautions with the current Coronavirus pandemic. The place is well kept and staff were informative. Great memories were made and delicious blueberries picked and enjoyed. They also have a snack area where you can buy fresh baked ThunderMuffin...

Nestled in the serene foothills of the Adirondacks, the beauty and splendor of Blueberry Brook will surely captivate you. The nature-rich property features an organic blueberry patch, stunning gardens, forests, streams and so much more. The exquisitely renovated 1860's farmhouse features five luxury bedrooms with a full private bathroom for each, along with a breathtaking Great Room, 5-Star Kitchen and Library upon the loft of the Great Room. Accommodations are also available in the historic Schoolhouse, with room for four and another full bathroom. My company had a regional conference at Turning Stone Casino in October 2022. A group of us were looking for a place to stay together at that would allow us to relax but also collaborate with minimal distraction. We absolutely loved our stay at Blueberry Brook Farm Resort, which was only a 20 minute drive to the casino! The house was spacious, allowing all 6 of us to have our own space and comfortable privacy, but had so many options for us to brainstorm on strategy and find a little fun. The house is full of historic treasures and period details yet the modern kitchen and other amenities allowed us to work seamlessly and kept us cozy. We really appreciated the Inn being locally owned and enjoyed walking the trail on the expansive property. It was a true farm to table indulgence with locally sourced fruit, cheese and even beef! We look forward to going back again when we are in the area and next time around will enjoy the spa t...

Auburndale approves conversion of blueberry farm to RV resort

AUBURNDALE — The City Commission voted unanimously Monday night to approve a change in land-use designation that will allow the conversion of a blueberry farm into a 436-site recreational vehicle resort. The property at Denton Avenue and Moss Road, slightly east of the Polk Parkway, is owned by Five-Star Family Growers. The business has grown blueberries in recent years for the brand Alpine Fresh, according to its website. The property is just south of Lake Myrtle and just north of a Saddle Creek logistics facility. JSK Consulting, on behalf of the property owners, requested the change from regional activity center to tourism commercial center. Because of the project’s size, such a change required review by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. The commission voted unanimously in January to transmit the request to the DOE, and the agency made no comments or objections. Auburndale’s Planning Commission voted 7-0 in favor of the change, and city staff also recommended approval. Five-Star Growers is an offshoot of a family farming operation that began in Michigan in the 1860s, according to the company’s website. Merle and Don Knapp sold their farm in 1970 and moved to Auburndale to pursue land development, the website says. Family members bought a 250-acre parcel in 2011 and began growing blueberries, according to the site. Five-Star was cultivating 80 acres at one point and formed a partnership with Miami-based Alpine Fresh on a facility capable of packing more tha...
