G 310 R

Wake up with a smile on your face. Because every day is an opportunity to try something new – with the BMW G 310 R. It is an intuitive, agile ride thanks to the optimized engine with Ride by Wire and slipper clutch, whether you are off to work, to an appointment, or out of the city. Experience the maneuverability, easy handling, and sportiness of the G 310 R and use it to push to new boundaries every single day – simply put: #NeverStopChallenging. The unconventional single-cylinder engine has a special design: Compared to conventional designs, the cylinder head is rotated 180 degrees, which pushes the vehicle’s center of gravity towards the front wheel. This makes the G 310 R agile and easy to control. With the new Ride by Wire system, throttle response is stable and at the ready. And the self-reinforcing slipper clutch makes switching gears easy. Good looks run in the family because the G 310 R carries the DNA of the BMW S 1000 R. With its bare design, it wears its heart on its sleeve and thus stands for lightness, precision, and a pure riding experience. The Sport style emphasizes the unmistakable racing look of the bike in particular. The engine area now comes in Titanium Gray Metallic. It gives the G 310 R its modern finish in combination with the footrest plates and pillion passenger grips. © 2023 BMW North America, LLC. 2023 BMW G 310 RR First Look

Rennie Scaysbrook | July 22, 2022 The junior The 310 RR uses a single-cylinder, 312cc, six-speed four-stroke that pumps out a claimed 34 hp and 20 lb-ft of torque, which puts it a fair distance behind the single-cylinder sportbike everyone thinks of in the KTM RC 390 with its claimed 43 hp. Certainly looks the part… pity we won’t have it in America. The chassis is constructed using tubular steel in a trellis layout, with suspension consisting of a non-adjustable 41 mm inverted fork and linkless, preload adjustable only rear shock. Compared to the GS, the RR’s chassis has slightly steeper geometry to quicken up the steering. Brakes consist of a single 300 mm disc running a four-piston, radially-mounted ByBre caliper up front and a 240 mm rear disc/single-piston set-up, and two-channel ABS. The cockpit includes a five-inch Bluetooth-equipped TFT display, although—as expected—there’s no riding modes or traction control to deal with. The G 310 RR’s styling mimics that of the big daddy S 1000 RR with a similar tank and seat design, although the front of the fairing looks more like the TVS it’s based off. At least for the Indian market, it will be available in two versions—the base model with Black Storm Metallic paint and the Style Sport that comes with the more traditional BMW Motorrad red, white and blue paint scheme. No word yet on when/if the G 310 RR will make it to America, but given both the 310 GS and 310 R have been sales success here recently, don’t bet against it. Fo...

BMW G310R (2021

Updated: 19 January 2023 Talk about a tough second album for the 2021 BMW G310R - the Bavarian firm's small-capacity G-series of bikes have received a mixed reception in the UK. Built in India via the firm’s link-up with TVS Motor Company to keep their price tags competitive, the BMW G310R roadster was the first to appear While the GS has generally failed to hit the mark, the R is the more popular of the two models and makes for a tempting lightweight city bike that comes with a solid array of extras and a competitive price tag of £5190 (in January 2023). With Euro5 regulations now coming into force, BMW have given the R a slight update for 2021 that essentially focuses around ensuring the single-cylinder motor meets the more stringent emissions requirements. The updates are effectively just a new ride-by-wire throttle and a self-boosting anti-hopper clutch as the single makes the same power and torque as before, which is good news, and on the chassis front you only get new span-adjustable levers, LED lights and new paint finishes but there wasn’t much the R needed anyway. Have BMW pulled their punches and should they have gone further? Some kind of connectivity would have been nice to see but when you consider the R’s price tag against its rivals’ (the There again, you would be very hard pushed to spot the updates so BMW haven’t really given buyers much of a reason to rush out and slap down a deposit on the 2021 bike as opposed to snapping up a marginally used older 2020 ...
