Ek Villain Returns Box Office: John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, Tara Sutaria keep footfalls coming over the weekend :Bollywood Box Office

Five weeks after JugJugg Jeeyo, finally, there is a film that has seen at least a respectable weekend at the box office. Otherwise, there have been so many disappointments galore one Friday after another that all hopes were being pinned on Rakshabandhan/Independence Day weekend releases Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha. In fact, it had seemed that the cold wave would continue for at least two more weeks with theatres turning out to be a dead show. Thankfully, though, Ek Villain Returns has got something going for itself, which is good. The Mohit Suri-directed film has accumulated Rs. 23.54 crores in its opening weekend, with Rs. 9.02 crores coming on Sunday. The growth is good when compared to Friday and Saturday, though all said and done the key word here is 'growth'. Unlike films that have either been dead or arrival, or have stayed flat right through their weekend, Ek Villain Returns has at least done far better, and in the process has also entered the Top-10 opening weekends for a Hindi release, which also includes dubbed versions of south biggies KGF - Chapter 2 and RRR. For most of the actors involved in the film, Ek Villain Returns is a far better outcome when compared to their last theatrical releases. John Abraham [ Attack: Part 1], Arjun Kapoor [ Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar], and Tara Sutaria [ Heropanti 2] had a lot riding on Ek Villain Returns, while Disha Patani had to continue from where she left with a successful Malang. Though Ek Villain Returns is not a ...
