For Jose Godino and Christian Rodríguez of graphic design studio Cárter, collaboration and experimentation have been important parts on the journey to define what their visual signature language will be. The Madrid based studio has worked with a range of exciting clients within creative disciplines such as Fashion, Art, Culture and Music. “In the studio we are always trying out new ways and techniques to develop our work”, Jose and Christian tell Collide24, “From the beginning on, what we didn’t want at all was to be stuck in a concrete style. Within the concept of each project we try to push us to think out of the box in order to keep making progress personally and work-wise.” In the last couple of months, the duo has worked on a bundle of new collaborations and projects, among them the identity for Jose and Christian met while studying together in Barcelona. After a few fruitful collaborations together, they soon realized that they shared a similar work approach and came up with the idea of founding a design studio in the future. Architectural interior designer Robbyn Carter has announced the launch of Studio Carter’s Los Angeles headquarters. Specializing in boutique and lifestyle experiences within the hospitality market, the artistically driven design studio is comprised of designers with demonstrated success in choreographing tailor-made, narrative-driven spaces rooted in a shared philosophy inspired by nature and design to respect it. With a team of 20-plus creatives based in California, Amsterdam, and Singapore, Studio Carter is an international force with a harmonized approach to providing a personal, articulated perspective on hospitality, ingenuity, and wellbeing to each of its projects. From conceptualization to design to installation, Studio Carter values strength in collaboration with its clients, owners, and operators to deliver tangible experiences that reflect a perceptive response to brand and location. Robert Carter was born in Louisville, Kentucky, where at an early age he was receptive to line, color and form, having an intuitive feeling for design. His sensitivity to detail became the legacy and abiding thread that connects the continuum of his art and that especially distinguishes his art of today. The dignity of the human spirit reigns within the people of Robert Carter’s compositions, uplifted by the virtuosity of his hand and his privileged understanding of human nature. Carter earned his Master of Fine Arts Degree at the prestigious Pratt Institute of Fine Arts in New York. His paintings, drawings and illustrations are consistently in demand by collectors throughout the United States. As an artist/illustrator his work is in the permanent collections of museums and private collectors throughout the United States, while being represented in numerous art books and other related publications, as well as a his work as a contract illustrator for major New York publishers. Robert is a distinguished professor of art at Nassau Community College, The State University of New York, where he teaches drawing, painting and design. He is a sought-after lecturer and demonstrator in numerous public schools, universities and private art organizations.
