Amit Shah reviews computerisation of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies office Version I of the software is based on existing MSCS Act and Rules. The CRCS office, which is responsible for administration of Multi State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, 2002, is being computerised to create a digital ecosystem for Multi State Cooperative Societies to facilitate all their activities including registration of new societies. ''The computerisation project will greatly help in registration of new MSCS and facilitate working of existing MSCS,'' the cooperation ministry said in a statement. Central Registrar & Registration of Societies

(1) The Central Government may appoint a person to be the Central state of cooperative society and may appoint such other persons as it think fit to assist the Central Registrar. (2) The Central Government may, by notification, direct that any power by the Central Registrar under this Act (other than the power of lustration of a multi state cooperative society shall in relation to such and such matters as may be specified in the notification be execution orders of liquidators in multi state cooperative society by any other officer of the Central Government or of a State Government . may be authorized by the Central Government subject to such conditions as be specified therein: Provided that no officer of a state Government shall be empowered to exercise such power in relation to a national cooperative society: Provided further that no officer of a state Government below the rank of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies shall be empowered to exercise any power execution by the Central Registrar under . multi state society shall be registered Act, unless the main objects of the society are to serve the interests of 1. more than one State. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Wednesday reviewed the progress of computerisation of office of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) here. He said that youth should also be involved in better utilisation and improved analytics of the portal through competitions to be organised by the CRCS office. An official release said the Ministry of Cooperation has taken number of steps to promote ease of doing business in cooperative sector to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sehkaar se Samriddhi’. It said that as part of these initiatives, the Office of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies, which is responsible for administration of Multi State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, 2002, is being computerised to create a digital ecosystem for Multi State Cooperative Societies to facilitate all their activities including registration of new societies. A software and portal is being developed which is targeted to be launched by June 26. The release said that the computerisation project will greatly help in the registration of new Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) and facilitate the working of existing multi-state cooperative societies. MSCS Amend 2022: Joint Committee meets; Ministry officials brief MPs

Besides the committee members from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the meeting was also attended by the Union Cooperation Ministry Secretary Gyanesh Kumar, Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies Vijay Kumar and other ministry officials. During the meeting, the representatives of the Ministry of Cooperation and Ministry of Law and Justice (both Department of Legal Affairs and Legislative Department) briefed the committee on the bill. Soon after the meeting sharing the details through social media, Chairman Chandra Prakash Joshi wrote on twitter, “The first meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, was convened in New Delhi today. In the said meeting, the members of the committee discussed the bill related to Multi Level State Cooperative Societies”. Later, talking to the Indian Cooperative one of the committee members from Lok Sabha said, “Members have registered their participation and it was the first meeting. Many more meetings will be organized before concluding the issue.” On condition of anonymity he said “Members shared their suggestions, which will be compiled and will be taken up in the next meeting. The meeting concluded with general discussions. We are barred from sharing details with media persons”, he added.
