Acting swiftly, the Hubballi police, with the help of the Belagavi police, nabbed the accused in the neighbouring Belagavi district. The accused have been identified as Mahantesh Shirol and Manjunath Marewad. According to the police, the murder took place around 12 noon. Two persons, who reportedly posed as Mr. Chandrashekhar’s followers, stabbed him multiple times in the hotel lobby and fled. The incident was caught on the hotel’s CCTV camera.
