CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: Situation turned tense in Kiradpura area of the city, after a brawl between two groups of youths over chanting objectionable and communally charged slogans. Eye witnesses said that the objectionable slogans were allegedly shouted by a group of bike-born youths, following which some of the youths from the locality thrashed them. The incident resulted into stone pelting, followed by torching of police vehicles. At least nine police vehicles were torched. Additional DG (law and order) Kulwant Kumar Sarangal told TOI, "We have rushed additional force including two companies of SRPF and two superintendent of police - Nimit Goyal and Ganesh Shinde to the spot. A detailed inquiry into the incident will be carried out and suspects involved in rioting and arson will not be spared."
