Chickpet Assembly Election 2023: For Chickpet constituency, JD(S) has fielded Imran Pasha, Congress has fielded RV Devaraju, and BJP has fielded Uday Garudachar. Chickpet Assembly Constituency falls under the Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Tejasvi Surya won from Bangalore South Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with a margin of 331192 votes by defeating B K Hariprasad of the Indian National Congress. The Congress won 135 seats (leading in 1 seat), and the BJP came second and won 65 seats. There are 28 Assembly constituencies in the Bangalore Urban district. Of these 28 seats, five seats are reserved for the SCs. Out of the total 28 seats, the BJP won 15 seats. Yelahanka Assembly Constituency Yelahanka is constituency number 150 of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. It is a general seat, and currently, it belongs to SR Vishwanath of the BJP. He is serving his third term since 2018. SR Vishwanath (BJP) won the seat by 64,110 votes. He defeated Congress’ Keshav Rajanna. Chickpet assembly constituency is one of the 224 constituencies in the Karnataka legislative assembly. It comes under the Bangalore South Lok Sabha seat. The seat was won by Uday B Garudachar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2018 assembly polls. He beat R. V. Devraj of the Indian National Congress Party (INC) by a margin of 7,934 votes. Chickpet has a total of 2,23,686 voters, of which 1,15,316 are males and 1,08,358 females and 12 are registered as Others. Political observers feel the BJP will have to strongly counter anti-incumbency, as voters have not given any party a successive mandate in recent years. It last happened in 1985, when the Ramakrishna Hegde-led Janata Party retained power.
