My family enjoyed the experience of walking through the cave with knee deep water.People inside the cave ,I don't know if they are officials or local people trying to loot people inside,they need to controlled ,the way they treat people makes the whole experience bad in spite of such a beautiful place. I knew Chitrakoot and the RAM that since 1979/80. It has changed dramatically, and I think it has been renovated “to death”. When I knew it, the many temples could freely be observed, there were some few stalls, where one could find surprisingly beautiful artifacts, and the boar-rides could be a short one, or a long, half day one up the river. Now, the place is covered with cheap hotels, cheap restaurants, and badly decorated boats. One is rowed a bit back and forth, but no trip up the river. And the long Ghat area I recall, was no longer there in all its beauty. Billboards were plentiful, shops with cheap souvenirs even more so. And if you looked closely, there were pools with garbage, empty plastic bottles, and discarded plastic bags. Very sad, indeed. We were with family and went to the temple by Rope-way. A good rope way ride. They will stop the trolley for 30 seconds , mid-way to enable devotees to take a view or snap some photographs of the valley.
