A few hours later, the men's table tennis team brought the top laurel home after defeating Singapore in the men's table tennis team event. The curtains are drawn on a magnificent day for India at the Commonwealth Games 2022. It was a Super Sunday as the country won 15 medals in six disciplines. Triple jumpers Eldhose Paul and Abdulla Aboobacker created history with India’s first CWG 1-2 in athletics while Sandeep Kumar (10km race walk) and Annu Rani (javelin throw) won a bronze each. It was a successful day for boxing as well with world champion Nikhat Zareen, Amit Panghal and Nitu Ghanghas all securing gold medals. Sagar Ahlawat collected a silver. The Indian women's cricket settled for a silver too while the women’s hockey team emerged on top in the shoot-out against New Zealand to win the bronze.
