The science stream at Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS) at Modern Housing Complex in Manimajra continued to remain the most sought-after course among the UT-run schools this year with a cut-off of 96%, as per the merit list released by the Chandigarh education department on Tuesday. Government Model Senior Secondary School at Modern Housing Complex has recorded highest cut-off for commerce course as well; GMSSS-16 tops in humanities. (HT file photo) According to the list, Manimajra GMSSS was followed by GMSSS in Sector 16 with 92.8% cut-off and GMSSS, Sector 35, with 91.6%. In commerce stream this year, GMSSS, Modern Housing Complex, is again topping the chart with a cut-off of 93.4% followed by GMSSS-16 (90.2%) and GMSSS-35 (87.4%). Last year too, the Modern Housing Complex school had set the highest cut-off at 94.4% for science stream and 88% for commerce. For humanities courses, GMSSS-16 has the highest cut-off at 90.6% followed by GMSSS-35 at 86.8% and GMSSS-9 at 79%. At 88.6%, the Sector-16 school had the maximum cut-off for humanities stream last year too. Among the vocational courses, information technology, web applications and media has the highest cut-off at 73.8% at GMSSS-22. Dear Aspirant Although the basic criteria to pass class 11 in each subjects of the science stream is about to score at least 21 in all of the subjects out of 70, as per the state board marking rules. However in other boards as well in class 11 you need to score at least 30% marks in each and every subjects. But yes for other boards the marks criteria may vary, however the pass marks will not exceed over 40% in any of the boards. Good luck!!! Maharashtra FYJC first cut-off 2021: The first cut-off list for admissions to mumbai.11thadmission.org.in. Students who wish to take admission will have to confirm their seats. RD and SH National College and SWA Science College has released the first round cut-off for various courses. The cut-off for arts is 380 marks or 76 per cent, commerce unaided is 415 marks or 83 per cent, commerce unaided is 363 marks or 72.6 per cent, science aided is 412 marks or 82.4 per cent and science unaided is 402 marks or 80.4 per cent. Candidates, after verifying that they meet the required FYJC first cut-off can register and apply online for admission to class 11. The respective FYJC will verify the candidates’ documents uploaded by them during the online FYJC admission process 2021 and after scrutiny will approve their admission.

The Government Model Senior Secondary School in Sector 16 and Manimajra recorded their cut-off at CGPA 10. For GMSSS 16, apart from the Cumulative Grade Point Average of 10 for 297 seats in science stream, the cut-off for 129 seats in commerce stream is 9.6, and for 132 seats in humanities, it is 9.2. For GMSSS Manimajra, the cut-off for admission in science stream is 10 and for commerce, it is 9.8. Among the other schools that saw a high cut-off are GMSSS 35, where the cut off for science stream is 9.4, commerce is 9.2 and humanities is 8. Whereas, at GMSSS, Sector 19, the cut-off is 9.2 for science stream, 9 for commerce and 8 for humanities. A number of students were not satisfied about the allotment of seats and schools. They are rued that they have not been allotted their preferred schools. Their parents are also very confused about the allotment of the seats and streams.
