The DaaS Disruption: How the Data

The sheer growth of data is expanding so rapidly each year; such growth has created a space where Business Intelligence (BI) solutions have no choice but to grow right along with it. This indicates a major shift in demand growth for BI solutions. For starters, this is a strong indication that the BI space is evolving quicker than organizations can keep up with. Companies now demand deeper insights into business processes and customer interactions than at any point in the history of data management. Arguably, this is where Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) comes into play. By delivering these data-based insights in real time, DaaS is expected to completely disrupt the rapidly changing world of Business Intelligence. Let’s peer into the world of BI and just how the DaaS movement is shaking things up. Data-as-a-Service: A 30-second Primer In general, this can include anything from a new technique for managing and deploying data within a datacenter environment, new private Cloud designs and data gathering/management models that fully outsourced to a third-party cloud provider. Basically, with the DaaS model, organizations can rely on stable agile and high quality data that they can use to execute key business processes on an as-needed basis. How Data-as-a-Service is Changing Business Intelligence The real impact of DaaS on the Business Intelligence space has to do with how organizations on both the executive and IT level are gathering and interpreting data for decision making. This goe...

Provision a user or group on demand using the Azure Active Directory provisioning service

• Go to Azure Active Directory> Cross-tenant Synchronization> Configurations • Select your configuration, and then go to the Provisioning configuration page. • Configure provisioning by providing your admin credentials. • Select Provision on demand. • Search for a user by first name, last name, display name, user principal name, or email address. Alternatively, you can search for a group and pick up to five users. Note For Cloud HR provisioning app (Workday/SuccessFactors to AD/Azure AD), the input value is different. For Workday scenario, please provide "WorkerID" or "WID" of the user in Workday. For SuccessFactors scenario, please provide "personIdExternal" of the user in SuccessFactors. • Select Provision at the bottom of the page. Understand the provisioning steps The on-demand provisioning process attempts to show the steps that the provisioning service takes when provisioning a user. There are typically five steps to provision a user. One or more of those steps, explained in the following sections, are shown during the on-demand provisioning experience. Step 1: Test connection The provisioning service attempts to authorize access to the target system by making a request for a "test user". The provisioning service expects a response that indicates that the service authorized to continue with the provisioning steps. This step is shown only when it fails. It's not shown during the on-demand provisioning experience when the step is successful. Troubleshooting tips • Ensu...

What is DaaS in Cloud Computing?

So far in this series, I’ve talked about the At the end of blog 2, I suggested that—although it doesn’t get you out of doing the necessary homework entirely—DaaS provides an alternative way to address VDI use cases, and it also unlocks new use-cases. For many companies, DaaS is simply a better fit than VDI or a complementary technology that can better address specific needs. Read more about the benefits of DaaS. Designing, building, running, and maintaining VDI in-house can be challenging due to constraints that may include skills, datacenter space, budget limitations, and staffing. IT teams may already be oversubscribed. Finding and retaining experienced administrators with the skills to run a modern—but also complex—VDI platform can be difficult. Adding VDI to your existing mix of applications and services may just multiply your challenges. Why choose DaaS Here are some of the reasons you might choose DaaS for some or all of your needs: • Accelerate delivery of virtual applications and desktops to users leveraging public cloud infrastructure in single or multiple cloud regions. • Support hybrid cloud deployments with virtual applications and desktops running on-premises or in public clouds, all managed from a single control plane. • Address the needs of temporary, seasonal, and contract workers • Reduce capital costs(CapEx)/switch to a pay-as-you-go (OpEx) model • Eliminate the need for VDI infrastructure deployment and management Many companies also find that DaaS give ...

DaaS Meaning: How Does the Desktop

Remember when the workplace was one giant office where lots of people sat together and went about their daily tasks on desktop computers that had similar hardware, software and user interface? For large organizations – private and public – delivering a responsive, reliable and secure user experience to employee computers is a challenge. Add to that the need to maintain and update the OS and applications on that fleet of computers. It can take a horde of IT staff just to keep operations going. The advent of Post-COVID, workplace realities and practices have changed permanently. Remote work went from being an option to a necessity in many cases, even as companies were already encouraging bring your own device (BYOD) with the dual goals of empowering their users and saving hardware costs. There are many reasons companies move to public cloud computing. “Some want to consume virtual applications and desktops as a Service,” said Spruijt said IT teams typically want to run applications close to their data, which often live in public cloud services. “There’s also a desire to move to OPEX-driven from CAPEX-driven approach to paying for usage,” he said. Then there’s a need for a great user experience (UX) for running virtual applications and desktops close to the users by leveraging the more than 100 cloud regions of Azure/AWS/GCP. The Apart from these, the decision to implement DaaS – • the use case and characteristics of the workload • data storage, access, and proximity constrai...
