These drugs work together in your body to help reduce the number of PBA episodes that you have. Nuedexta comes as capsules that are taken by mouth. Each capsule contains 20 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 10 mg of quinidine sulfate. Effectiveness In a Nuedexta contains a combination of two active drugs: dextromethorphan hydrobromide and quinidine sulfate. It’s also available as a generic medication. A generic drug is an exact copy of the active drugs in a brand-name medication. The generic is considered to be as safe and effective as the original drug. Generics tend to cost less than brand-name drugs. Each of the active drug ingredients in Nuedexta are also available separately as generic drugs.
