TNN / Oct 17, 2019, 12:20 (IST) The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) depot of the Delhi-Gurugram-SNB network will be built off Delhi-Jaipur Expressway in dharuhera, according to National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). The agency has already identified around 182 acres of land and requested HSVP to hand over it for construction. The city will have seven RRTS stations. Lane on Delhi

To keep them from marching towards Delhi, the Haryana Haryana police also blocked the NH-48 at Dharuhera, which led to a 7-km jam from Saturday morning till late in the evening. After spending more than six hours in traffic, people were forced to break a lane on the highway and return. Farmers have been protesting on the highway at Shahjahanpur border since December 12. However, till now only the lane from Jaipur-Delhi was closed. Many farmers have come from Alwar and announced their decision to march towards Delhi, following which the Haryana government also put up barriers on their side of the border. Due to the blockades, traffic was diverted to new routes connecting Jaipur and Delhi.

Over 100km of Delhi

While thousands of trucks were left stranded on both sides of the highway, hundreds were forced to walk for several kilometres. Many more had to take arduous detours to reach their destinations. All eight Haryana Roadways buses that operate daily between Delhi and Jaipur were suspended on Monday. Four buses that had left Gurugram depot to go to Jaipur on Monday morning did not reach their destination till late in the evening. The route had seen congestion on Sunday evening as well. “Buses moving from Jaipur to Delhi that were supposed to reach on Sunday evening got stuck in On Monday, Priyanka was among those who were seen walking along the highway near Dharuhera. “I was on my way home to Charkhi Dadri from Bhopal where I study. The bus I took from Delhi dropped me at Kapriwas and I have been walking for several kilometres, with my luggage, all by myself. I don’t know how I will reach home,” the 19-year-old student told TOI. It took over three hours for TOI reporters to reach Rewari from Gurugram, a stretch that usually takes about 40 minutes to cover. Kundan Kumar, from Bihar, said: “I have got a job at a manufacturing unit in Bhiwadi and I have to join on Tuesday. I am new to this place and I do not know how to reach Bhiwadi now,” he said. Several truck drivers said they are stuck since Sunday evening.
