Dog bites zomato delivery boy

A 25-year-old software engineer was in for two shocks after receiving her Zomato food delivery. No, it was not as simple as a food order gone wrong. It was far worse. Soon after receiving her order, Vibha Vaman, a resident of Maruthinagar of Jnanabarathi, heard the yowling of neighbourhood street dogs. When she rushed out, she saw that one of the dogs had been beaten brutally by a man accompanying the delivery boy. The techie, who rushed to intervene and stop the violence, was abused by the man and his accomplice, who escaped after committing the horrific act. Vibha rushed the profusely bleeding dog to a hospital but she could not save it. The incident happened on October 12, around 8.30 pm, after Vinod delivered her food parcel. Speaking to BM, Vibha said, “The two men told me that they were beating the dog since it had attacked them. I asked them if the dog had bitten them and that’s when they started abusing me. They said that if I loved street dogs so much, I should take them into my house and care for them. They beat the dog with a wooden log that was lying on the road till it fell unconscious near my gate, bleeding profusely.” Vibha rushed the dog to a nearby pet clinic where the dog received emergency care and from there it was shifted to another hospital on October 13.
