Strong earthquake tremors felt in Noida. Stay safe everyone. "I'm just 80 km away from the centre of this earthquake.... I tell you guys.... I was in deep sleep. My table started hitting the wall.... A massive earthquake jolts Delhi NCR region today evening around 10.25pm. According to reports, magnitude 7.7 earthquake hit central Afghanistan. The tremors were felt across Kashmir, Chandigarh and Delhi NCR region.

Delhi Earthquake: 6.3 magnitude Earthquake in Nepal causes tremors across North India & Delhi

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit Nepal in the wee hours of Nov 9, Wednesday causing tremors that were felt across North India, including in Delhi, surrounding areas of Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and even in Lucknow, UP. The tremors jolted Delhi NCR at around 01:57 IST late at night. The epicenter of the earthquake was the Himalayan region near Uttarakhand along the Nepal border. The depth was approximately 10 km below the ground, as per the data released by the National Center for Seismology. The origin of the tremors was 90 km southeast of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand, bordering Nepal. The Himalayan region in Uttarakhand and adjoining Nepal has reportedly been witnessing earthquakes of lower magnitude for the past couple of days. At least two earthquakes of 4.9 magnitudes and 3.5 magnitudes hit the region late Tuesday evening, according to NCS data. On Sunday, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit 17 km east-southeast of Uttarkashi. An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted Delhi-NCR and neighbouring areas on Tuesday. According to officials, the earthquake struck at 1:33 pm and it originated near the remote village of Gandoh Bhalessa in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district. Reports state that the earthquake tremors were also felt in Mandi, Kullu, and Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh including Chandigarh, and Mohali. A local from Srinagar told news agency ANI, "The earthquake scared school children. People in shops rushed out. It was scary. This was more intense than the tremors last week…" After the earthquake rattled several parts of India, Twitter users took to the site and shared funny memes about the situation. One Twitter user shared a meme saying, "Took off from work so that can sleep peacefully. Meanwhile, #earthquake be like #Delhi..."
