KL FOREST ECO PARK (Kuala Lumpur)

Check out KL Forest Eco Park, a lush forest reserve located in the heart of the city next to the KL Tower. This nine-hectare park is home to over 200 tree species and wildlife, like the silver leaf monkey and long-tailed macaque. A highlight is the Canopy Walk, which offers stunning views of the park's oldest trees, such as the Jelutong and Merawan Batu. There are also many hiking trails to explore. The best part? Admission is free. Visit in the morning for fewer crowds, and take advantage of the cool shade offered by the trees. You can easily explore the park as part of a city tour of Kuala Lumpur's best sights. – Tripadvisor It is a great idea to preserve a bid of rainforest amid the City and I always sent my foreign visitors there to enjoy the greenery and the canopy walk. It used to be free, but now they charge an entrance fee of MYR 40 to foreigners, which is daylight robbery. Even for a reasonable fee of maybe MYR 10 they would need to do much more to maintain the side. Be reasonable. This could be a fantastic attraction. Forest well over 100 years old in the heart of the city. The canopy walk is good but the signs are faded and useless. There are no labels or any other information. The main entrance next to the rail line seems to have been shut for a long time, and the other entrance on that side of the park was padlocked shut. It was a long walk up to the entrance by the tower and there was no signage. The red covering on the roadway became very slippery when it ...

By Express News Service NEW DELHI: Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai held a joint review meeting with the officials of the Environment Department and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee regarding the construction of an e-waste eco park, an official statement said. Rai said India’s first e-waste eco park will be developed in Holambi Kalan in Delhi in an area of about 21 acres. He said an 11-member steering committee has been formed and Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has been made its implementing agency. “In order to rapidly complete the development of the eco park, the concerned agency has been asked to appoint a consultant as soon as possible. The park will be ready in about 23 months,” Rai said. Delhi produces over two lakh tonnes of e-waste every year, or about 9.5 per cent of the total amount produced in India, and only five per cent of the generated e-waste is properly recycled. “By ‘e-waste eco park’ we refer to the establishment of a place where this e-waste is dismantled, refurbished, recycled, and manufactured in a manner that is scientifically and environmentally sound,” the minister said. He said the decision has been taken keeping in view that Delhi is the fifth-largest producer of e-waste in India, after Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. There’s no denying it: parking garages are very ugly, and take up a lot of space in the American city. While the and making it autonomous. Yes, a robotic parking garage will swallow your car into the Earth until you next need it, freeing up the city streets presumably for like, houses, trees, and people. Satoshi Kamimura, head of the construction design and planning group for Giken, spoke to Inverse about how the team wants to change parking for good. Where did the idea come from? ECO Park is a fully automated underground parking system with the design concept of “Culture Aboveground, Function Underground”. The concept is to maximize land usage efficiency. Automobiles are in use just three-to-five percent of their lifetime, while they are parked in the remainder of lifetime. In other words, cars are parking for 23 hours a day. Considering the scarcity of available land space, if a huge land area is used only for parking purpose, it cannot be considered that the land is used in optimum manner. It is ideal that car parking is located underground and aboveground space is used for residential space, amenity area or natural environment. Also, parking efficiency is one of the key issues in terms of land usage. ECO Park has higher parking efficiency than traditional drive-in underground car parks, which enables land usage to be maximized. Why should someone choose to build an ECO Park over a more traditional underground garage? There are several reasons: High parking efficiency. ...
