Even before the fourth episode of Ms Marvel began streaming on Wednesday afternoon, Marvel had begun teasing Also read: Farhan Akhtar makes MCU debut in first look from Ms Marvel Farhan Akhta makes his MCU debut in Ms Marvel episode 4. Spoilers for Ms Marvel episode 4 ahead! First things first, Farhan does have a short role on the show. But yes, it is significant. One can understand why Marvel Studios chose to cast a well-known Asian face as Waleed. The character needed certain gravitas and grandeur. But the show also introduces another character played by a famous actor. Aramis Knight of Ender’s Game comes in as Waleed’s deputy Keemo and provides fan with some much-needed action and history of Kamala Khan’s world. But the biggest change in episode 4 of Ms Marvel is the scenery. So far, the show had been about Kamala Khan, a ‘brown girl from Jersey City’ trying to come to terms with her superpowers. But episode 4 sees Kamala and mother Muneeba jet off to Karachi to meet Muneeba’s ailing mother. Till now, if a superhero show was set in Pakistan or India, it was almost always related to a terror plot. So, the hero coming home to see her ‘nani’ is a refreshing change indeed. By Tushar Joshi: Farhan Akhtar made his Hollywood debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s much-talked-about superhero project, Ms Marvel, which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. The actor-director is stoked about his brief but important role as Waleed. Waleed plays an important part in leading Kamala (Iman Vellani) to her grandmother as she discovers her roots and the source of her power. Farhan makes his entry in Episode 4 and, despite his short role, he’s kept the mystery of the possibility of Waleed returning to the series open-ended. In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, the actor spoke about his favourite superheroes while growing up and why he thinks it took so long for Marvel to find their first Muslim superhero. Farhan, who were the superheroes that left an impression on you while growing up? Oh, God! I don't know where to start. Anything that I would watch, I would become that character. When I watch Spiderman, I would put my hand and leg on one side of a cupboard and climb up. And my mum would just keep looking at me. The reactions to your character have been amazing, but fans are also divided about the fact that it was so brief. Your thoughts? Oh! It has been really good. People are enjoying it and what's most important is that people must enjoy the show and they should enjoy Kamala's journey. I think t...
