FIFA World Cup points table: Spain and Japan win from Group E, Morocco, Croatia share a point

Six teams have been in action, so far on day 3 of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and this edition of the tournament saw its first major upset. Argentina, the Copa America winner of 2021 was beaten 2-1 by Saudi Arabia in the first match of the day. Following a draw between Mexico and Poland, Argentina, shockingly, finds itself at the bottom of the table, with Messi’s side the only team without a point in its group. In Group D, a brace from Olivier Giroud and a goal each by Adrian Rabiot and Kylian Mbappe, saw defending champion France beat Australia 4-1 at the Al Janoub Stadium. The FIFA World Cup group stage has entered the final leg of matches, with teams vying for a berth in the Round of 16 stage. Only two more spots remain to be filled for the pre-quarterfinals. In Group H, Portugal has already booked its place and was joined by South Korea as the second team. The Asian nation beat Portugal to book its place, while Uruguay failed to make it despite a 2-0 win over Ghana. In Group G, Brazil takes on Cameroon and Switzerland faces Serbia. Group A standings:
