Addressing the second SAI20 Summit of the SAI20 Engagement Group under the Indian Presidency of G20, Murmu said, “The reality of Artificial Intelligence has come a long way since the term was first coined in 1956 by John McCarthy at a workshop held in Dartmouth. Today, it is an integral part of our lives, whether we realise it or not. CAG: PANCHAMRIT STRATEGY INTRODUCTION: India being a developing country faces challenges due to changes in climate. India adopted Intended Nationally Determined Commitments (INDC) in 2015. It aimed at sustainable economic development and the initiative to promote in use of solar power. COMPTROLLER AUDITOR GENERAL OF INDIA: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) is the authority under Article 148 of the Indian Constitution. It is made to audit all expenditures and receipts of the Central Government and State Government. It also includes corporations that are financed by the Government or corporations in which government has an equity share of 51%. CAG is also head of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service. The reports made by CAG are laid down in Parliament. Further, discussed by Public Accounts Committees (PAC) and Committees on Public Undertakings (CoPU). The position of CAG is the same as that of a Sitting Judge of the Supreme Court. The first CAG of Independent India was V. Narahari Rao (1950 – 1954) and is presently Girish Chandra Murmu since 2020. CAG completes 150 years, new logo released

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India Vinod Rai released the new logo of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department at a function here. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rai said the CAG office had completed 150 years of existence. Sir Edmund Drummond was appointed the first Auditor General on November 16, 1860, and V. Narahari Rao was appointed the first Comptroller and Auditor General of Independent India in 1948. He praised the Audit and Accounts Department for its credibility, high standard of professionalism and independence. He said the department was always improving its core competency by continually updating its techniques for improving governance. Mr. Rai noted that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar had described the CAG “as the most important officer” in the Constitution of India. “And this duty entrusted to the CAG by the Constitution is still being carried out with the same dedication and sincerity, if not more, since the past 150 years,” he added. Deputy CAG Narendra Singh said the logo was selected through an all-India design contest conducted by the CAG office. “Of the 142 entries received, the design proposed by Shivam Dua, a young B. Tech student from Rohtak, Haryana, was selected as it best conveyed the core values of the department – its traditional values and its dynamic and progressive outlook,” Mr. Singh said.
