Flutivate cream

Flutivate cream is a topical steroid cream preparation. Flutivate contains fluticasone as its active ingredient. Flutivate cream is used to alleviate the symptoms of various skin diseases like dermat itis and eczema-like redness, swelling and itching. Wash your hand before and after applying the cream. Apply this cream as advised by your treating doctor for the prescribed duration. Avoid the medicine to treat other skin conditions than prescribed by the doctor. Flutivate cream is meant only for external application and should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor. You may experience side effects. However, they normally fade away with time. Consult your doctor if you notice the side effects persist or worsen. Do not use it for a prolonged duration unless it is prescribed by your dermatologist, as it contains a steroid. A: You should avoid applying Flutivate cream on your face. Do not apply to areas with thin skin surfaces. If you are using this cream on your face make sure not to expose your eyes or ingest the medicine accidentally. But if you have a condition called rosacea or herpes on the face, do not apply it as it can worsen these skin conditions. Do not use fluticasone topical cream to treat any other skin condition without the consent of the doctor.

Fluticasone Description Fluticasone Propionate Cream, USP 0.05% contains Fluticasone propionate [(6α,11β,16α,17α)-6,9,-difluoro-11-hydroxy-16-methyl-3-oxo-17-(1-oxopropoxy)androsta-1,4-diene-17-carbothioic acid, S-fluoromethyl ester], a synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid, for topical dermatologic use. The topical corticosteroids constitute a class of primarily synthetic steroids used as anti-inflammatory and antipruritic agents. Chemically, Fluticasone propionate is C 25H 31F 3O 5S. It has the following structural formula: Fluticasone propionate has a molecular weight of 500.6. It is a white to off-white powder and is insoluble in water. Each gram of Fluticasone Propionate Cream, USP 0.05% contains Fluticasone propionate 0.5 mg in a base of propylene glycol, mineral oil, cetostearyl alcohol, Ceteth-20, isopropyl myristate, dibasic sodium phosphate, citric acid, purified water, and methylparaben as preservative. CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY Like other topical corticosteroids, Fluticasone propionate has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. TREATMENT OF INFLAMMATORY DERMATOSES Adults: Fluticasone propionate cream is a potent topical corticosteroid indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses; these include the following: • Atopic dermatitis • Nummular dermatitis (discoid eczemas) • Prurigo nodularis • Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis) • Lichen simplex chronicus (neurodermatitis) and lichen planus • Seborrhoeic dermatitis • Irritant or allergic contact dermatitis • Discoid lupus erythematosus • An adjunct to systemic steroid therapy in generalised erythroderma • Insect bite reactions • Miliaria (prickly heat) Children: For children and infants aged three months and over who are unresponsive to lower potency corticosteroids, Cutivate cream is indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of atopic dermatitis under the supervision of a specialist.
