Sabrina Zunich Gives Prison Interview After Murdering Foster Mom

When Lisa Knoefel welcomed 16-year-old Sabrina Zunich into her family, there’s no way she could have predicted the chaos that would soon follow. Zunich had an affair with her foster father, Kevin Knoefel, and the two of them conspired to murder Lisa. Those who knew her say Lisa Knoefel was loving and compassionate. “Lisa loved children and she loved to help people,” her first husband, Nicholas Zanella, told Oxygen’s Nicholas and Lisa’s daughter, Megan, was born in 1999, but the couple divorced in 2003. In 2006, she married Kevin Knoefel, a truck driver. Their daughter, Hailey, was born in 2009. She would eventually open her home to children in need as a foster parent. Sabrina Zunich and Kevin Knoefel “When she had foster children, she treated them like her own. She made sure she went the extra mile to be a good parent,” friend Carol Beese told “Snapped: Behind Bars.” Then, in July 2011, 16-year-old Sabrina Zunich was placed with the Knoefel family and moved into their home in Willoughby Hills, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. Zunich was born on October 27, 1994. Her parents were alcoholics and drug addicts and often in trouble with the law, according to a 2013 Cleveland Scene article. “At one point when she was still being bottle fed, to get her to go to sleep, they put vodka in her bottle,” Zunich’s friend Bob Stokes told producers. No amount of explanation by the CJI about the massive increase in workload as head of the judiciary would convince the two differently-abled daughters, with whom he and his wife Kalpana are very attached. To make them realise about his work and understand how the courts dispense justice, the CJI on Friday decided to give his foster daughters a guided tour of his chamber as well as the CJI's courtroom, the largest in the SC. The daughters first visited his chamber which comprises a huge office room with two adjacent small ante-rooms, all located behind the CJI's courtroom. The daughters were surprised to see so many Registrars queueing in to take directions on various administrative issues from the CJI. Before commencing judicial work at 10.30am, the CJI accompanied the two electric wheelchair-bound daughters to enter the courtroom through the lawyers' entry gate, much to the surprise of the assembled lawyers. The CJI, dressed in casuals, told his daughters where he sits while dispensing justice and adjudicating disputes. The high dais of judges and the crowd of lawyers ready with their case files and electronic tablets to argue the cases of their clients left a mark on the two daughters. Though they understood the workload and the workin...
