'STRAY DOGS: BECOMING A CONCERN IN INDIA.' The issue of stray dog attacks frequenting the news recently, is not a new one. In fact, it has been a problem since many years in India. Stray dogs are a common sight in many parts of India. While some of these dogs may be friendly and harmless, others can be aggressive and pose a threat to public safety. Here are some thoughts on how authorities can efficiently tackle this issue: Firstly, it's essential to understand that the root cause of the stray dog problem in India is the lack of responsible pet ownership. Many people in India do not understand the importance of spaying or neutering their pets, and as a result, these animals breed uncontrollably, leading to an overpopulation of stray dogs. One of the most effective solutions to the stray dog problem is to implement a comprehensive sterilization program. This would involve spaying and neutering stray dogs to prevent them from breeding and reproducing. It's important to note that sterilization should be done in a humane way and not involve unnecessary pain or suffering for the animals. Additionally, public education campaigns can play a crucial role in addressing the stray dog issue. These campaigns can raise awareness about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering pets. They can also educate the public about the dangers of aggressive dogs and how to avoid confrontations with them. In conclusion, the stray dog issue in India is a complex problem t...

Please introduce yourself to the readers. What inspired you to choose law as a career? My name is Arohi Srivastava, and I am a student at the NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law in Mumbai. I am currently in the second year of the Law Degree programme.Coming from a small town, I had to overcome several obstacles on my way to college. But it was my desire to help the needy that kept me going. My hometown is Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, that’s where I completed my 10th and 12th grades. I was always interested in learning about crimes and the perspectives of criminals, which is perhaps why I selected law as a career. To be honest, law is such a crucial part of our lives, and is practically omnipresent, that any lawyer may make a significant influence in the lives of the individuals they work with and represent in court. My interest is genuinely piqued by the possibility of making a significant contribution to the well-being of others while at the same time being rewarded well for it. I’ve always felt a strong desire to assist underprivileged people in asserting their rights, and this is where I hope to work. So, tell us more about you law school and tell us how is your law school journey till now also highlight some of your academic achievements. When I first stepped in the halls of the law school, it seems like only yesterday. Living my life as if it were a scene from the movie “Student of the Year,” and then suddenly realising that I’ve already completed almost half of my journey. ...

Yuvika Dandiwal, Lindsay Fleming and Daniel J. Levitin * • Department of Psychology, McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada The global COVID-19 lockdowns shattered familiar routines, plunging individuals into a disorienting emotional landscape characterized by loss, uncertainty, and a deep yearning for social bonds. Many employed coping strategies such as cleaning, dancing, and mindfulness-based practices to ameliorate negative emotions. Music listening was one of the most widely used coping strategies, moderated by personal and contextual variables. We obtained data from a Canadian national survey conducted in April 2020 to examine the role of personal (sex, age, education level, pre-pandemic income, minority status, feelings about music, and Schwartz’s “personal values”) and contextual variables (level of worry, changes to income, COVID-19 status and risk, having children at home, and internet access) in predicting music listening for stress relief, changes to music listening, changes to music watching, and music discovery. Our results indicate that women, younger adults, individuals who like or love music, and those reporting high levels of worry were more likely to listen to music to relieve stress. Personal variables were more significantly associated with music listening for stress relief than contextual variables. Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic caused catastrophic economic and social disruption, claimed millions of lives, posed unprecedented challenges to publi...
