Synopsis Gold prices increased due to a weaker dollar index, with MCX August Gold futures trading at Rs 59,756 per 10 grams, up by 0.19%, and July Silver futures higher by 0.41% at Rs 73,330. Physical gold in Delhi and Ahmedabad is priced at approximately Rs 61,300 per 10 grams, with silver priced at Rs 75,000 per kg. Gold futures on the MCX decreased by 1.04% or Rs 625 per 10 grams in June and remained up by 8.46% or Rs 4,650 on a year-to-date basis while silver futures gained nearly Rs 845 or 1.17% in June, with a YTD increase of 5.18% or Rs 3,595. On the Comex, Gold futures were trading at $1,971.50 per troy ounce, up $1.80 or 0.09% while silver futures were at $24.16, down $0.11 or 0.44%. The DXY was hovering around 103.50 against a basket of six top currencies and was down 0.12%. By India Today Business Desk: Both gold and silver prices are retailing on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Friday, June 9, 2023. Gold futures, maturing on August 4, 2023, stood at Rs 59,943 per 10 grams, after recording a marginal dip of Rs 16 or 0.03 percent. The previous close was recorded at Rs 59,891. Similarly, silver futures, due on July 5, 2023, witnessed a downfall of Rs 52 or 0.07 percent and were retailing at Rs 73,860 per kg on the MCX against the previous close of Rs 73,670. Gold prices edged lower on Friday after climbing more than 1 per cent in the previous session, although hopes of a likely pause on interest rate hikes by the U.S. central bank kept bullion on track for a weekly gain. According to the latest metal report, spot gold was down 0.2 per cent to $1,964.79 per ounce by 0304 GMT, but headed for a 0.9 per cent weekly rise. U.S. gold futures held steady at $1,979.80. Spot silver rose 0.4 per cent to $24.3387.
