About Have You Ever Seen the Rain "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" is a song written by John Fogerty and released as a single in 1971 from the album Pendulum (1970) by roots rock group Creedence Clearwater Revival. However, Fogerty himself has said in interviews and prior to playing the song in concert that the song is about rising tension within CCR and the imminent departure of his brother Tom from the band. In an interview, Fogerty stated that the song was written about the fact that they were on the top of the charts, and had surpassed all of their wildest...

[Verse 1] Someone told me long ago There's a calm before the storm I know, it's been comin' down for some time When it's over, so they say It'll rain a sunny day I know, shinin' down like water Woah, yeah [Chorus] I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? Comin' down on a sunny day [Verse 2] Yesterday, and days before Sun is cold and rain is hard I know, been that way for all my time Until forever, on it goes Through the circle, fast and slow Well it can't stop, woah I wonder Woah, yeah, yeah [Chorus] I want to know, have you ever seen the rain? I want to know, havе you ever seen the rain? Comin' down on a sunny day
