Pet cafes are all the craze in the world nowadays. Dog cafes? Check. Cat cafes? Double check. Reptile cafes? Penguin cafes? Owl cafes? You name it, the world’s got it. But wait a minute… Did you know that Bangkok has a Husky Cafe? Yup, you got that right – no longer do you have to travel to the Arctic for some husky action; you can have some in sunny Bangkok! This charming cafe is home to 25 gorgeous huskies, 2 Australian Shepherds, 1 Japanese Akita and 1 little Shih Tzu, all of which are part of a big fluffy family. Image credit: Neverland Siberians The huskies are split into three pens – apparently the different groups of huskies are “enemies” and will fight if put together. Yikes! Whichever pen you go to, the huskies are fluffy, adorable, and ready to mingle! Remember the overwhelming Bangkok heat? Well the huskies definitely feel it too, and are given ice cubes to munch on. They are only let out three times a day for an hour each, and are kept in air-conditioned houses the rest of the day. Someone give them an ice coconut! The cafe is hard to reach on foot, so getting a tuk-tuk or cab there is definitely recommended. Playing with the huskies was such a memorable experience! I would suggest going about an hour before closing time so you get enough time to pet the dogs and watch them all stampede to their beds for the night. I don't highly recommend you to take a walk from a train station due to long distance. Once we arrived there, we had to pay 350 baht for entrance fee plus one free drink and ice cream or cake. However, the huskies were running around and yapping. We were allowed to play with them for an hour. They were soooo flurry and cute! The food was very good, better than I thought. I ordered Katsu Don. They did a very good job with it. I would go there again! Go for your love of Huskies! Yes! For once, instead of the usual Cat Cafe, you'll get to play with dogs, and not just dogs but Siberian Huskies while you eat your cheesecake and sip your Skinny Latte! With an adorable play on words, the cafe is known as Huskiss, and it is situated right in Kelana Jaya. What that means is that, if you’ve always dreamt about playing with the oh-so-cute huskies, or if you’re a fellow canine lover, then this is absolutely the place for you! Thrilled already or not? Husky cafes are known to house both huskies and malamutes, and for this cafe, it’s the same too! Patrons who would like to play with their cute little Husky pups are encouraged to book timeslots. You can even try to teach them new tricks! There’s a total of 6 slots to choose from: • Session A: 11.00am-12.30pm • Session B: 12.30pm-2.00pm • Session C: 2.00pm-3.30pm • Session D: 5.30pm-7.00pm • Session E: 7.00pm-8.30pm • Session F: 8.30pm-10.00pm Prior to this cafe’s opening, there’s a popular husky cafe located in Melaka known as Huskitory and another cafe, CuBs & CuPs, in Sri Hartamas with resident Huskies which were later unfortunately removed from the premise to rest at home. Truly a dog lover’s paradise, True Love Husky Cafe is a place you have to visit for an experience you cannot get anywhere else. Imagine getting up close – and too personal – what seems to be an enless number of huskies. This is where you can fulfil your dreams of playing with some of the friendliest huskies in the world. As a dog lover myself, I was attentive to the living conditions of the dogs as I tend to get a bit skeptical when it comes to using animals as a selling point for businesses. I was surprised, however, to find that the conditions of the dog kennels were pleasant and the dog handlers were very gentle with them. We could tell that all 23 dogs were very close to their owners, and that they took pride in the quality of care of their canines. Kudos to them! For a price of just 350baht (approximately SGD 15), visitors get to enjoy an hour of playtime with the huskies. And, you even get a free drink and cake along with the entry fee! There are 3 different play timings everyday, 12:30pm, 3:30pm and 6:30pm, where you can get to play with the dogs within their respective caged areas for an hour. You can pet them, feed them with ice, take selfies, and just generally do anything a human is genetically programmed to do when encountering cute dogs. 30 minutes before each playtime, patrons have to fill up a registration form and make payment at the counter to enter. Judging by the crowds waiting to play with the dogs, there are plenty of Husky lovers out there and Bangkok’s TrueLove at Neverland Husky Café is attracting them all. Also sometimes referred to as True Love Cafe, the little establishment hidden amongst a quiet residential neighbourhood draws throngs of people looking to interact with gorgeous Siberian Huskies. Meet the Dogs at Bangkok’s True Love Cafe There are more than 20 Siberian Huskies at True Love Husky Cafe. To play with them, you will need to sign an indemnity form and purchase a ticket at the cafe’s front door. For 350 Thai baht, you get admission, a drink, a slice of cake and an hour with the huskies. There are fixed playtimes with the dogs. When we were there on a weekday, the two play times were 1pm to 2pm and 4pm to 5pm. It is best to check with the TrueLove at Neverland’s Facebook page for the timings for the day. If you have your heart set on meeting the huskies, don’t arrive at the wrong time or it would mean a wasted trip. Story continues below...
