Hyderabad Metro Rail — Map, Lines, Route, Hours, Tickets

Planned in two separate phases, the Hyderabad Metro is a rapid transit serving the city of Hyderabad, Telangana. Currently, focused on Phase 1 of the plans, it is scheduled to begin operations in 2016. Various different routes, have different opening dates but as a whole Phase 1 is scheduled to have 3 lines. Stage 2, operating between Miyapur and S R Nagar is going to be the first route under operation. The 3 lines are going to serve 64 stations in total. Phase 2 is planned to stretch even longer than Phase 1, measuring approximately 97 km in track length. Phase 1 on the other hand, is relatively shorter spanning over 70 km in length. Hyderabad was founded by the Mecca Mosque, which was built later, can accommodate 10,000 people. The mosque was the site of a bombing attack in 2007 that killed several Muslims and injured many others. It currently has 24 stations, divided between 2 lines, extending a total of 30 km (19 miles). Most of the system is still under construction and upon completion, it will have 64 stations on 3 lines.
