In shared channels, there are three roles: team owners, channel owners, and channel members. Each role determines if you can create a shared channel, add people to a shared channel, and more. Team owners Team owners can: • Create shared channels • Accept channel invites sent to their team • See the name and description of all shared channels in a team • Manage shared channels created in their team • View channel owners • Delete shared channels • Restore deleted shared channels • Manage shared channels • View all channels in their team • Remove a team from a shared channel Note: If you're a team owner and don't see an option to create a shared channel, check with your admin. Channel owners The team owner who creates a shared channel is the channel owner. Hello JoJo246, Yes, you can do that by managing the access in SharePoint as files in teams are stored in SharePoint. To do that, the steps are as follows: 1. In Teams, select one team and the channel, and click Files tab. 2. In files tab, click Open in SharePoint . 3. Select the file you want to edit and change access permission and open details pane by clicking the button at the upper-right corner. 4. Under Has access, select Manage access. Hello! I am a language instructor teaching remotely this semester using Teams. I am wondering whether one is able to add a file to a channel, and edit the permissions so that only one student can view and edit it. For example, students will each have a response log where they post answers to short essay questions. I do not want students to be able to view or edit each other's logs, but I would like them all available on the channel. Microsoft Teams: Owner of Team but no Permissions

Hi All, I set up a Team a couple of years back when Teams was relatively new, and I was going to clean a couple of things up (delete some channels and add a new one) and I noticed all my permissions have gone. Settings are greyed out and I can't change them, I can't add / delete / manage channels and when I go to add a user, it emails me to accept/deny the request. When I click on that link, it just takes me back to the team. I am the only owner of this team. I can seemingly do these things on Teams I'm not an owner of. Any ideas?
