In Options data, maximum Put Open Interest was seen at 17 000 followed by 17 500 strikes while maximum Call OI was at 18 000 followed by 18,500 levels. Minor call writing was seen at 17,700 and then 18,000 strike while there was Put writing at 17,600 and then 17,000. Bank Nifty opened gap up and witnessed buying interest towards the 37,650 level. However, it moved in a consolidative manner in the second half of the session. Selective Banking stocks bottomed out and gained strength which is supporting the index to again attract buying interest. The index closed with a gain of around 350 points and formed a bullish candle on the daily scale and it negated the lower highs of the last three sessions. Now it has to hold above 37,300 level to witness a bounce towards 37,850 and 38,000 levels, while on the downside major support is seen at 37 000 and 36,850 levels. Nifty futures closed negative with the gains of 1.03 per cent at 17,710 level.
