By India Today Web Desk: India reached the top of the ICC ODI rankings after their clean sweep against New Zealand in the three-match series. Rohit Sharma's team are now at the top of the charts in both white-ball formats, going into the ODI World Cup, scheduled to be held later in the months of October and November in the subcontinent. India were ranked in the third position in the ODI table, but were tied in rating points with the top two teams - England and New Zealand. However, due to playing more matches than the top two teams, India were ranked third in the world. The clean sweep helped India to reinstate themselves as the best white-ball side in the world. Indian Squad For Men's T20 World Cup: Ashwin In, MS Dhoni to Mentor Team

India have announced their 15-member squad for the 2021 Men's T20 World Cup with R Ashwin making the cut while Shikhar Dhawan, who captained the team in the limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka this summer, has been left out. MS Dhoni will mentor the team at the tournament. The squad was announced on Wednesday night at BCCI's Mumbai headquarters by secretary Jay Shah (convenor of selection committee) and Chetan Sharma (chairman, selection committee). The T20 World Cup was scheduled to be played in India last year but was postponed to 2021 and will stretch from 17 October to 14 November in the UAE & Oman. "Mr Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be joining Team India as mentor for the upcoming T20 World Cup. I am glad that MS has accepted BCCI's offer and he is keen to contribute to the national team once again. MS will work closely with Mr Ravi Shastri as well as other support staff to provide support and direction to Team India," said Jay Shah.
