At the military exhibition in Seoul, Korean shipyard showcased the KSS-III submarines, emphasizing their compatibility with the future requirements of the Royal Canadian Navy. These advanced submarines, which South Korea has already offered to India under the Project 75 India tender, possess the capabilities and features necessary to meet Canada’s naval defense needs. Until recently, South Korea was the sole bidder in India’s Project 75 India tender for the acquisition of submarines. However, secret talks between the German and Indian defense ministers cleared the path for German company TKMS to submit its bid before the August deadline, effectively preventing a single vendor situation. This development solidifies the German bid and it seems South Korea is not so happy about it. → The Indian Navy is set to strengthen its operational capabilities with the imminent arrival of two MH-60 Romeo anti-submarine warfare helicopters later this month. These helicopters will be deployed on board the INS Vikramaditya, which recently underwent an extensive refit lasting nearly two and a half years. The delivery of the helicopters is expected to coincide with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to the United States.
